At first I was a bit disappointed with it – the hat is soft and pleasant to the touch, but a bit thin, so it’s not suitable for severe frosts like the -23°C we’ve had in Ukraine this year, or for icy winds. It’s more for active movement, your head doesn’t sweat in it and it breathes well. I work in security, so I move around periodically, sometimes indoors, sometimes outdoors, and it’s handy because you don’t need to take it off inside – your head doesn’t get hot like with most cheap acrylic or fleece hats, in which your head gets sweaty and then freezes in the cold. At 0 to -5°C it’s fine, but if it’s windy, you do feel the wind going through it – still too thin, so you need to put a hood on top. Maybe at -10°C it would be okay with a jacket hood over it. That’s exactly what it’s for – your head doesn’t get sweaty when you’re on the move, but if you just stand around outside, it’s not great. Movement is really its element. I think it’ll be just right for spring and autumn.

I really liked the hat. I chose it mainly because of its composition – merino and minimalism. It’s one of my favourites. Recently, I’ve been paying attention to clothes containing merino wool. It keeps you warm, but also allows your skin to breathe. The only downside (typical for wool) is slight pilling. Fortunately, after using a fabric shaver, it looks great again. I definitely recommend this product and the shop Militaria.pl.
