Bushmen Underquilt Glow -12 deg. C

Underquilt Glow -12 deg. C is a lightweight and exceptionally warm hammock underquilt. It provides excellent insulation against the cold and will perform well even on freezing winter nights. Designed for three seasons: autumn, winter and spring. The model weighs just 800 grams, making it a great choice for those looking for ultra-lightweight gear.

The underquilt is filled with 550 g of Polish natural goose down with a fill power of 750 cuin. The comfort temperature is -12 deg. C, and the limit temperature is -19 deg. C. Goose down is the most efficient and lightest insulating material, with excellent loft. Loft is key to retaining heat.

It is worth noting that the down filling the Underquilt Glow is recycled. It is sourced from products that need to be replaced after use. The down undergoes a thorough disinfection and cleaning process, using only biodegradable detergents. Once the process is complete, the clean, disinfected and dried down is sorted and replenished to meet the 750 cuin loft standard.

The outer shell is made from ultra-lightweight nylon in a micro Rip Stop weave. The fabric offers optimal durability and breathability, whilst being dense enough to prevent the down from poking through or escaping, even with prolonged use. The nylon has been treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellency) waterproofing, which prevents the fabric and down from absorbing water. Water beads up on the surface and runs off freely.

One side of the liner is dark green, blending in with the natural surroundings. The other side is orange, making it easier to spot. The liner can be used on either side, depending on your needs.

Thanks to its unique design, the Underquilt can serve not only as an underquilt, but also as a comfortable sleeping bag, topquilt, duvet or an additional layer to insulate a sleeping bag. The duvet’s special shape allows for maximum utilisation of the down’s insulating properties. The construction of H-shaped down chambers (the so-called ‘warm seam’) eliminates cold spots, i.e. areas without insulation, which significantly increases the underquilt’s insulation performance.

The sections covering the chest, shoulders and head in the Underquilt Glow are 140 cm wide and feature rectangular pillow-shaped chambers, which prevent the down from shifting to the lower parts of the duvet. As a result, the torso and head are always very well protected. The section designed to cover the legs features specially elongated chambers. This design ensures optimal warmth and efficient use of the down.

The underquilt can be easily and quickly adapted to any hammock. The set includes two elastic cords (1.25 m) fitted with tensioners with self-locking clips. This allows for effortless adjustment whilst lying comfortably in the hammock. When the hammock is not in use, the Underquilt Glow can be used as a sleeping bag or topquilt. Simply tie the expanders around the mattress and attach them to the tensioners to prevent the quilt from slipping.
