I have used these pads for a long time and I can say they are very comfortable and lightweight – my knee doesn’t feel tired in them. However, the lack of plastic elements meant that after two years they wore out. Plastic in cheaper models can break easily, so... for me, it’s still a 5 out of 5.

Alta Industries knee protectors in a soft, flexible version without a plastic cover. The inner, adjacent to the knee part of the protector is made of soft neoprene foam. On the outside, original Cordura was used. The specially designed material is characterized by very high strength and resistance to abrasion and punctures.
The AltaSoft model is equipped with a convenient and secure AltaLok fastener, allowing easy donning and doffing of the knee pads. AltaLok consists of special swivel hooks and two strong straps. By adjusting the straps, the protector can be easily and precisely adjusted to fit different knee sizes.
The AltaSoft protectors were developed in response to soldiers' demand for lightweight and quiet knee pads for off-road use. In wooded or desert terrain, thick shells are not needed, as there is little risk of serious injury or prolonged exposure of the knees to hard surfaces.

The protectors are very comfortable and easy to put on. They are made of soft material without any hard parts, so the knee fits well on them even when kneeling and doesn't hurt over time. They are lightweight and do not cause discomfort even with prolonged wear. I can recommend them with a clear conscience.

This is a great option instead of neoprene inserts placed inside trousers because they protect both your knees and the fabric, which extends the life of your trousers. They worked perfectly well both in the forest and when doing camp chores. They are really large, comfortable and exceptionally soft.
