When considering the purchase of a headlamp, Olight headlamps are worth considering. They are characterized by very high maximum light output while maintaining a very compact size. The Chinese company, despite its relatively short tenure, has broken through into the European and world market for luminescent equipment. The company was founded in 2006, and thanks to the quality of their products, today you can buy their equipment on virtually every continent. Olight focused on the production of flashlights, in which the light source is LEDs, which made it possible to achieve significantly higher power. However, in order to achieve it, the vast majority of their equipment abandoned the standard power supply of AA, AAA or R20 type batteries. To ensure maximum lifespan, each Olight headlamp has extensive electronics that control the operation of the equipment. The electronics are responsible for such basic functions as changing light modes or activating the strobe, as well as protection against overheating.

The diodes you can find in Olight's headlamp flashlight allow you to get up to 2,500 lumens of power. With such high light output, a large amount of heat is emitted. In order to keep the equipment as long as possible, the electronics automatically (after a certain amount of time) reduce the light power. Such a solution protects against overheating of the diode and too strong operation of the battery. Recharging of batteries is carried out using a magnetic contact, which is located in the Olight headlamp. Thanks to such a charging option, you do not have to disassemble the flashlight each time to charge the battery. This is a very convenient solution, and in addition, when you do not need to disassemble the flashlight often, it does not lose its waterproof properties over time.

The flashlights are made of aircraft-grade aluminum and are additionally sealed, so that getting wet or momentarily submerged in water won't ruin your gear. The most sophisticated models of Olight flashlights can also be equipped with a built-in proximity sensor, reducing light output when it detects an obstacle near the flashlight. This prevents you from blinding bystanders and yourself.

At the time of purchase, it is worth paying attention to the width of the light stream in a particular flashlight - high light output and refined mirrors around the LEDs do not give the possibility to adjust the width of the light. In Olight head flashlights, the light streams are quite wide to best illuminate the area around you, without forcing unnecessary head movements to illuminate the point of interest. Head mounts depend on the size of the flashlight, the smallest ones may have a velcro panel so that you can mount the flashlight even on a baseball cap (equipped with a velcro panel, of course!) or a single strap. Models using slightly larger batteries additionally have a strap passing still through the center of the head. Such mounting prevents the slightly heavier flashlight from slipping on your face during dynamic movements.
