The "Lodge Cast Iron" brand is an iconic American manufacturer of cast iron cookware, based in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. The brand's history dates back to 1877 when Joseph Lodge and his wife Anna settled in the region. In 1896, Joseph Lodge founded the Blacklock Foundry, which produced various cast iron products, including cookware. Unfortunately, in 1910, a fire destroyed the factory. However, Joseph Lodge did not give up and opened a new factory under the name Lodge Cast Iron just three months later. During the Great Depression, the company survived by producing gadgets such as cast iron garden sculptures. This allowed them to keep employees and continue operations.
