Which binoculars to choose?

The choice of the right binoculars mainly depends on the purposes for which we intend to use them. It's worth paying attention to several key parameters:

• Magnification (x) – 8x or 10x models are the standard, providing an optimal compromise between image stability and observation range. Higher magnifications (12x, 15x) are better suited for observing distant objects, but may make it difficult to maintain a stable image.
• Objective lens diameter (mm) – lenses with a diameter of 40-42 mm offer versatile use. Larger diameters (50 mm and above) are recommended for observations in low light conditions, such as astronomical observations or twilight surveillance.
• Type of prism – Roof prism features a compact design and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for tourists. Porro prism provides higher image quality at a lower price, making it excellent for wildlife observation.
• Water resistance – binoculars that are waterproof are recommended for use in harsh weather conditions. Models filled with nitrogen effectively prevent lens internal fogging.
