Merino wool clothing

Merino wool originates from a special breed of sheep bred in New Zealand and Australia. Merino is a highly desirable material for garments designed for winter sports or outdoor activities. With its unique properties, merino wool provides, among other things, very good breathability and air circulation.

Merino sheep live in harsh mountain conditions, where temperatures reach 40°C in summer and drop to -20°C in winter. These sheep are adapted to the changing climate, which is crucial for the quality of merino wool. The micro-structured spaces in the fibres mean that the wool maintains an optimal body temperature regardless of the conditions. Merino wool absorbs up to 35% water in relation to its weight, which makes it a great material for underwear and sportswear, among other things.

Garments made from merino wool are also distinguished by other features such as antibacterial properties, which prevents unpleasant odours from forming even during intensive exercise. It is also worth mentioning the flexibility and durability of merino garments which are resistant to stretching, preventing them from losing their shape during use or washing.

Merino wool repels dirt and other impurities, making it easy to clean. After minimal exercise, merino underwear does not need to be washed but simply hung up and aired out. In addition, merino wool is flame resistant and displays self-extinguishing properties, therefore will not melt when exposed to fire.
