I tried on the jacket after receiving it and sent it back, immediately ordering a smaller size. I have the impression that the sizes are slightly larger than standard. The jacket itself gives a solid impression, and the fleece lining also looks good. The weight is similar to the ECWSC USA gen.I (without the lining), but this jacket is slightly longer. I liked it enough that I immediately ordered a smaller size. I’ll keep trying until I find the right size ;-)
The second-generation ECWCS waterproof jacket is crafted from a three-layer laminate that offers superior protection against wind and water. Simultaneously, the material is vapor-permeable, minimizing the risk of overheating during physically demanding activities.
The jacket's outer layer is composed of 96% polyester and 4% elastane. Inside is a breathable polyurethane membrane. Beneath the jacket, there is a removable, warm fleece liner. This liner makes the jacket suitable for wear not just in fall and spring, but also in winter. The Wet Weather model includes a snow apron to block snow from entering beneath the jacket.
The jacket is outfitted with seven pockets:
- two large hip pockets featuring waterproof zippers,
- two sleeve Velcro pockets with waterproof zippers,
- a sizable pocket with a Velcro closure in the back of the liner,
- two zippered side pockets in the liner.
The jacket is fastened with a two-way YKK zipper, further secured by a double strap. Airflow is enhanced by underarm vents, which are closed with zippers.
The high collar and hood offer effective protection for the head and neck against cold and wind. Cuffs are adjustable with Velcro, allowing for a fit that accommodates the user's wrist size and thickness. All seams in the outer jacket are sealed.
WASP I is an avant-garde line of PHANTOMLEAF® CIV-TEC® camouflage patterns developed particularly for MIL-TEC®. PHANTOMLEAF® camouflage designs are generated through advanced digital image analysis of the intended operational environment to provide effective camouflage. The algorithm also considers movement and additional variables, resulting in patterns that adapt across various conditions. PHANTOMLEAF® camouflages maintain distinctiveness for reliable identification among a group of soldiers on the battlefield.
The WASP I Z1B variant is most effective in rocky terrains with sparse vegetation, such as tundra or mountain regions above the tree line. It is also advantageous in urban and industrial areas where concrete and steel are prevalent. Its effectiveness persists even with partial snow coverage.

The jacket is well made and does not have any flaws or shortcomings. Even after unfastening the lining, it remains warm. The camouflage works great. The jacket is practical, has many spacious pockets, a high collar, and a hood with a visor. The option to unzip the sides under the armpits for ventilation is a nice feature. I recommend measuring yourself carefully before purchasing and checking the jacket’s sizing.

The jacket is great, very comfortable, and of solid quality. I ordered a set in XL size (jacket and pants). It has a warm lining, a practical hood, and a high stand-up collar that protects the neck well from the wind. My measurements are 6’3” tall, 47” chest, 250 lbs, and 40” waist.

The jacket is very nice, keeps you warm, and has a high collar and hood. You can tell it is well made and doesn’t resemble cheap products from China. I recommend paying attention to the sizing – the size chart is not precise, and the clothes are larger than what the description says. I assumed they would be smaller and ordered a 3XL (I’m 250 lbs, 6’3” tall, 40” waist, 47” chest), but the jacket turned out to be much too loose, like I was wearing a sheet or a bag like the Groke from the Moomins. Now I chose XL. With the pants from this series I had the same problem – for 3XL the waist was really too big, even after tightening the cords there was still a lot of slack, so I also ordered XL. The clothes are well made and will be great for photographing animals.

Good morning, I have this jacket, it looks great and I recommend it. However, I think the sleeves and the zipper closure could be designed differently, because the current version is not very comfortable for me, although maybe some people like it. Personally, I’m not a fan of this solution and I have my own idea for improving the closure. Nevertheless, I recommend it.

The jacket disappointed me a bit—for this price, the quality of workmanship leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless, it looks nice and is practical (the detachable fleece as a lining provides different options, so theoretically you can wear it all year round).

It looks good, the cut provides some comfort, works well in the rain and is warm, but it’s more of an imitation than a real jacket—it’s only suitable for careful use around the city. The workmanship is very poor. I wouldn’t take it outdoors. Unfortunately, breathability is just theoretical. I give two stars for quality and durability and one extra star for its versatility during business trips—when you need something to wear with a blazer, as well as after work.

Great jacket, I decided to buy it at full price as a birthday present. The recipient says it's very comfortable, and a big plus is the included fleece, so you don't have to look for an extra liner separately. After an outdoor trip, I also heard a funny comment: "...I didn't feel under the jacket at all that I was sweating...," which proves the material breathes well. In summary, the jacket is still being tested, but everything indicates that it's really worth considering.

It looks very good. Unfortunately, according to the size chart, S should be suitable for a person who is 174 cm tall with a chest circumference of 102 cm, but it is too small. I am currently waiting for size M.
