Temperature and usage conditions
The usage temperatures of the Carinthia Tropen sleeping bag are defined according to EN 13537:
- T-comfort: 9.4 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: 5.1 C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -7.9 C – the lowest temperature for survival. Not recommended for regular use.
Shelltrans material
The outer layer is crafted from lightweight, water-resistant Shelltrans fabric, which gently encases the inner layer to create an effective insulation barrier. The interior features polyamide, recognized for its low moisture absorption and enhanced resistance to mechanical damage.
G-Loft filling, Thermoflect
The interior features synthetic G-Loft insulation, ensuring temperature stability. This material retains its insulating capacity even after heavy use, washing, or exposure to moisture. The Thermoflect layer boosts insulation by reflecting body heat back into the sleeping bag.
Trapezoidal shaping in the foot area enhances thermal comfort and leg space, effectively aiding in heat retention in the bag's lower section.

This is one of the most interesting three-season sleeping bags available on the market. I have been using it for almost a decade and it still works great.
