Carinthia Defence 4 Medium Sleeping Bag - MultiCam Black

A durable sleeping bag featuring MultiCam Black camouflage, mummy-shaped to ensure a comfy body position and ease of movement while resting. Constructed from premium polyamide, it has a sturdy exterior and is insulated with synthetic G-Loft filling.

Usage temperatures for the Defence 4 sleeping bag are established according to the EN 13537 standard:

• T-comfort: -8.8°C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably throughout the night,
• T-limit: -15°C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
• T-extreme: -35°C – the lowest survival temperature in the sleeping bag. Not advised for regular use.

Inside the sleeping bag, G-Loft synthetic down effectively preserves thermal comfort. This insulating material maintains its properties even after exposure to water, washing, or extensive use. The Thermoflect layer reflects body heat, trapping it within to enhance insulation efficiency. The outer shell is more spacious and doesn't directly contact the interior, forming an additional thermal barrier.

The Defence 4 model functions effectively as an outer thermal layer when combined with other sleeping bags. This setup enhances thermal efficiency, promotes moisture wicking, and boosts thermal comfort even at temperatures as low as -20°C. The Sleeping Bag System - Tropen technology and contemporary materials ensure a low weight and compact size when packed.

The sleeping bag includes a centrally located two-way zipper for complete opening. To prevent the fabric from snagging, an Anti Snag system is installed. An insulated draft tube runs along the zipper to keep cold air out. A Velcro flap at the top secures the zipper against unintentional opening. The trapezoidal footbox design provides extra space for the feet and enhances thermal efficiency.

The model comes with a shaped hood featuring an adjustable face opening, which can be tailored with drawcords to improve protection against the cold.

When compressed, the sleeping bag occupies a minimal space of 25 x 30 cm, with a weight of 1850 g, ensuring ease of transport and reducing the overall gear burden.
