The shoes are comfortable, have a soft and well-gripping sole, but unfortunately, they are not suitable for more difficult terrain and do not withstand even light off-road conditions. The leather of the shoe is very soft and started to tear by the sole from the first day of use, and the insoles (foil-backed material at the bottom) completely disintegrated after two days. The leather on the tongue did not even withstand the pull from the laces. I thought these would be good quality shoes, but unfortunately, I have to look for others.
Prabos Grizzly GTX Boots - Brown
Tall brown tactical boots made of natural leather and equipped with three types of Gore-Tex membrane. They offer thermal comfort in extremely low temperatures down to -50 degrees Celsius. They are designed for continuous use in harsh conditions.
Three types of Gore-Tex membrane, Three-layer sole
The three types of Gore-Tex membrane used in the boots ensure adequate breathability and waterproofness. The treated upper leather is easy to clean and prevents moisture penetration.
Gore-Tex membrane types:
- Duracom CC Sportive - a thick layer that insulates the entire upper and provides breathability,
- Duracom MS Sportive - a thin insulating layer, provides better support to the tongue and a better fit to the leg,
- Thermium - located in the upper of the shoe and provides thermal comfort in extremely cold temperatures.
The three-layer sole is characterised by low abrasion. The sole framework made of TPU material stabilises the structure during walking. The polyurethane midsole prevents cold penetration and provides cushioning. The outsole features Icetrek rubber tabs, which prevent slippage.
4-layer CLOUD lining, contoured insole
The two-part contoured insole is made of soft PU honeycomb and PES fabric. The 4-layer CLOUD liner improves cushioning and wicks away moisture. Toe protection is provided by an additional layer of fabric and an overlapping part of the rubber sole. The sole is bonded to the upper using a direct injection moulding process.
The boot is suitable for basket crampons.

The shoes are warm, but claiming durability down to -50°C is an exaggeration – they do not provide that much warmth. A big downside is the insole – at the front, underneath the toes, it's covered with aluminium foil, which started to crack and crumble after a few outings. Sharp tiny pieces have formed and I'm worried they might damage the membrane.

I bought the shoes at the end of August – they performed well during heatwaves (+30°C), although foot sweating was normal in such conditions. In September, I used them intensively for two weeks on the training ground – I developed some minor blisters on my heel and the outer part of my big toe. Then, I wore them at the unit in mid-October and during a week on the training ground in the rain. In November, they were used again on the training ground in mud and rain. Now, with snow falling and temperatures below zero, I no longer feel the features of these shoes previously mentioned. The shoes start letting in moisture after 4–6 hours of service. At -14°C I almost suffered first-degree frostbite. Their main advantage is the sole – it really protects against injuries (slipping, twisting) – and the self-sealing upper (several times I stepped into mud or water up to about 18 cm and they did not get soaked). After walking about 800 km in them in 3 months, I think the price of over 1100 PLN is inflated – personally, I'd pay a maximum of 600 PLN. If they weren't so heavily advertised and had an adequate price, I'd probably buy them. Unfortunately, due to numerous exaggerations and information in the description not matching reality, I do not recommend these boots, and in my opinion, a rating of 2 is appropriate. Regards.

These shoes should cost a maximum of 700 PLN as of December 2023. After 6 hours of service at -3°C, dampness started to appear, and after 13 hours at -14°C my toes were blue. After just 10 minutes without movement, the whole foot was frozen – only during constant walking do the shoes keep warm (I was wearing two pairs of Merino socks). The strong point is the sole – it insulates well from the ground and prevents slipping, which saved my joints several times. Additionally, the foot is securely placed in the shoe, but at this price that should be standard. My maximum rating is 2 stars.

I bought these shoes and I'm satisfied with them – they are light and warm. The only issue I had was sizing, because with a foot length of 28.5 cm, size 43 turned out to be too small, so I exchanged them for 44. I think they are better than the ones I had in England.

The shoes are very comfortable and warm. After walking several kilometres, I can already say they are worth their price.

They perform excellently in the field. They don't let water in and your feet stay dry. The only downside is the price, but you have to pay for high quality.
