The Charge is the most versatile multitool in Leatherman's range. Equipped with everything a DIY enthusiast needs and made from good quality steel. It's worth paying extra compared to the Wave model, and if your budget allows, even for the titanium version.
Leatherman Charge Plus Multitool Black with sheath
Leatherman Charge multitool is considered one of the flagship models of the American brand, earning the title of bestseller in the category of multitools of this class. Based on the design of the Wave model, a tool with a higher standard of performance has been created, using more advanced materials. It includes 19 functions in one device and comes with a 25-year warranty!
Improved version with interchangeable wire cutters!
Durable stainless steel frame, lightweight handle scales
The construction is made of high-quality stainless steel, which, thanks to precise heat treatment, achieves optimum hardness to match the function of each component. The handles are equipped with scales made of 6061-T6 aluminum, hard anodized for increased scratch resistance. The smooth, matte black surface and lack of sharp edges ensure comfort and safety in use, especially when working with pliers.
All the tools of the tool are finished with a black coating to prevent light reflections on the surface.
2 locks: Liner-Lock and Back-Lock
The smooth blade, serrated blade, saw and file are available for use without the need to unfold the multitool. Thanks to special holes on the blades, it is possible to open them quickly with one hand using the thumb. Four of the tools have individual liner-lock locks, while the others are secured by two ratchet locks resembling a back-lock system.
154CM steel main blade
The straight blade is made of 154CM stainless steel, valued for its exceptional dullness resistance, which is rare in standard multitools. The high quality of this material, combined with the ability to open the blade with one hand, makes the Leatherman Charge a viable replacement for a traditional folding knife.
Screwdriver sockets and a set of double-sided bits allow for versatile use in assembly and repair work.

Well made and highly functional penknife. With the additional bits and extender, it turns into a small toolbox. Very useful equipment. The price is high, but it's an investment for years. Due to the weight, it's better carried in a holster or pocket, as it might be uncomfortable in trousers.

A very functional tool. I bought it for my EDC kit and it really comes in handy in everyday life. Thanks to it, I can do household repairs without looking for separate tools. The set of interchangeable bits is a big advantage – I can unscrew different types of screws. The knife is exceptionally sharp. Additionally, the sheath and clip make it convenient to carry. I am very satisfied with the purchase. My wife was a bit less thrilled when she found out how much it cost, but the quality is worth it.

Multitool bought about 6 years ago at militaria.pl in Gdynia. Since then it’s accompanied me every day. At first I wore it on my belt, then in a Helikon bumbag, and now usually in a bag or backpack. If I had to name the tool that got me out of a fix the most, it would be the Charge. It helped me with loose screws after forest rides, repaired a damaged mudguard, punctured tyres, fixed brake jaws, handled a hot pot over a fire, and was useful for everyday household repairs. I use it often and don’t give it an easy life, and the tool takes it bravely. I regularly sharpen it, wash it under the tap every six months, dry and oil it in key spots. I considered buying other multitools, but I always recognise that Charge has everything I need. The only minus – the weight, but it’s the price of solidity. The price nowadays is higher than before, but honestly, it’s worth it. It’s a durable tool for years that can handle many situations.

Buying the Leatherman Charge Plus Black was one of my best choices in recent months. As soon as I opened it, I could see it's solid and very well-made equipment. All the tools are perfectly matched, work without any play or resistance. You can tell it's a premium product you can rely on. Functionality is impressive! The Charge Plus contains everything you need every day: very sharp scissors, a great knife, and various screwdrivers, which have already proved invaluable more than once. I use it regularly at work, but also while travelling or at home when something needs to be fixed quickly. The black version looks very elegant and at the same time tactical, and the coating is exceptionally durable, even with intensive use. It's also an advantage that it comes with a case that allows you to conveniently carry the multitool on your belt. The Leatherman Charge Plus Black really makes a difference – it has replaced several other tools for me. Now, I can't imagine a day or an expedition without it. It's more expensive, but worth it – this is equipment for many years!

Everything except for one issue is perfectly fitted and I have no complaints about the quality. The downside is the wire cutters - on my 2023 model, they are rounded at the axle, which makes it harder to cut wire at the pliers’ axle position, you have to move it 1mm. That’s inconvenient and I consider it a design flaw. I’ve also seen cases of the cutters cracking on YouTube. Older versions didn’t have these problems, and apparently from 2024 the manufacturer has fixed it. For now, I’m holding off on buying more LM multitools.

Solid and functional gear. Useful in emergency situations when we don't have other tools at hand. Solid workmanship, practical tools, and the set of bits is an additional asset. It's a shame that quality control could be better – the scissors have some play, but it doesn't significantly affect usage. Unfortunately, it's similar with play on the blades – at this price, it shouldn't happen. Overall, though, a very good tool and worth having. Big plus for the 25-year warranty. The Militaria shop, as usual, flawless – very fast delivery and no shipping fees. I recommend.

It has everything you need – the blade is impressive and easily opens with one hand. The construction is solid, nothing is loose. I use it at work every day and think the purchase will pay off quickly. The interchangeable bits and good quality holster are a plus.

Great tool, in a class of its own. I recommend it to anyone looking for a professional tool for work. Worth the price, the best Leatherman I've had.

This tool is very handy and makes everyday tasks easier. It's a high-class product for people who want an alternative to a toolbox in tough situations. My piece turned out to be faulty and after a failed repair attempt, the shop refunded my money on the second contact. Such customer service is not standard nowadays – Militaria.pl handled the matter professionally and I can genuinely recommend this shop, even though I ended up without the tool.

A very solid multitool, you can feel the quality of the steel just by the weight – the factory-sharpened knife is sharp enough to shave with. The scissors cut very well, and the additional set of bits is a huge advantage.
-
As always with Leatherman – excellent build quality and durability. Nothing to add, nothing to take away. The set includes basic bits, but I recommend getting the Bit Kit and ratchet as the manufacturer suggests. In the photo below I've already attached the clip for a belt or pocket.

Another Leatherman in my collection, solidly made and with an excellent choice of tools. I definitely recommend it.

Leatherman Charge is a top-class tool. I've been using it for a few days, it's solidly made. Adult men love these kinds of gadgets.

After switching from the Wingman, apart from the lack of spring-loaded pliers, everything looks very good. It's a bit bigger, but it offers more functions. Compared to the Surge, the size is perfectly acceptable for me. I recommend.
