Helikon US LVL 2 Base Layer Set - Olive Green
The Olive Green Helikon-Tex thermal underwear set, consisting of long-sleeved top and leggings, is designed as a second layer of clothing in the ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) used by the U.S. Armed Forces. Made from lightweight and durable Comfort Dry fleece, the set efficiently wicks moisture away from the body while providing insulation. The addition of elastane gives the fabric flexibility and ensures unrestricted movement.
Thermoactive Comfort Dry fleece
The underwear set is made from Comfort Dry thermal fleece, composed of 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The fabric dries quickly and efficiently wicks moisture away from the skin, ensuring thermal comfort even during high-intensity activity. A grid-like weave structure increases the evaporation surface, while the fleece fibers provide excellent insulation in cold conditions. The set integrates well with other layers of the ECWCS system or other thermal clothing, making it ideal for cold and transitional weather.
Well thought-out cut, high collar
The shirt includes long sleeves with thumb openings that help keep them in place during movement and offer added warmth around the hands. An extended back panel helps protect the lower back and kidney area from cold, especially while bending or crouching. Flat seams are used to reduce skin irritation. The high collar guards the neck against wind and cold, while the long front zipper makes the shirt easy to put on and provides ventilation when needed.
Fitted leggings
The leggings are fitted with elastic bands at the waist and ankles, ensuring a snug fit and helping retain body warmth. The fabric and cut allow for unrestricted movement. A traditional fly is included for practicality. Flat seams help reduce the chance of chafing and skin irritation.
