The fleece is very good, but the sizing can be confusing, as other users have already noted. At my height of 172 cm, size S fits best, while size M would suit people around 180 cm. Stocky people of shorter height may have trouble finding a good fit. In the end, I chose another fleece from this brand, the Patriot, and I definitely recommend paying extra, because although this model is good quality, the Patriot is much better.

Helikon Infantry Fleece - Olive Green/wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland
A soft and warm fleece jacket with a zip, designed as an insulating layer for cold days, effectively retains heat while allowing moisture and excess heat generated during physical activity to escape. The Helikon Infantry model is made of durable fleece with a grammage of 380 g/m². The looser fit allows for comfortable wearing of additional layers, such as a light sweatshirt or thermal clothing. The slightly longer back provides better protection for the lower back from the cold, while the whole garment has been designed so as not to restrict access to pockets or equipment worn on a belt.
Breathable fleece
The fleece is made of 100% quick-drying polyester with a weight of 380 g/m². The material provides a high level of insulation and breathability, which allows excess moisture to be wicked away, preventing the wearer from getting cold. The fabric is durable and resistant to damage, making the sweatshirt suitable for outdoor activities in difficult terrain, both when hiking and performing tactical tasks.
Roomy pockets
The fleece is equipped with four zipped pockets:
- two classic hip pockets,
- one chest pocket,
- one shoulder pocket (left side)
The zips on the hip pockets are sewn in at an angle, making it easier to store and retrieve carried items. Additionally, each zip is finished with a fabric strap, allowing for easier grip even when wearing thick gloves.
Material reinforcements and high collar
The fleece in the elbow and shoulder areas, the protective strips on the hip pockets, and the lower inner part have been additionally trimmed with abrasion-resistant material, and the elastic cuffs have been replaced with Velcro straps, allowing for sleeve circumference adjustment. The high collar protects the neck from cold and wind, allowing for better body temperature regulation. The collar at the back has been reinforced with material to prevent it from rubbing against the weapon sling.
Velcro Panels
Velcro strips have been sewn onto both sides of the chest and on both sleeves, allowing the attachment of various emblems, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches, giving the fleece a personalised touch.

The Polar Helikon Infantry in Black is an excellent choice for cold days. It is very well made, provides warmth, and at the same time allows the skin to breathe. The material feels pleasant to the touch and effectively retains heat, even during long walks or activities. It looks great, is comfortable, and works well both outdoors and for everyday wear. The fleece performs very well. It fits like a glove. For my height of 170 cm, size S is just right – not too short and not too long. The sleeves are suitable, nothing wrinkles or sticks out. At this price, it's hard to find a better product.

Another Optimal Jacket from Helikon-Tex. The Infantry is as far as I know the 2nd Level in the List of Helikon Jackets and as such Warmer than the Classic-Army (Which I also have). I chose Size M in Black, which fits me Optimally as Im 180m with Shoulder 48-50. I usually take size L, but This Jacket as usual with Helikon Wear is Military standard Lose, which is Good. Its really Warm, and the Frostier it gets outside the Warmer the Jacket of choice should be. This one I chose for under a coat, so I only need a Thermo T-shirt and this jacket underneath. The fleece is excellent, top quality. The velcro panels hold firmly and the reinforced areas on the forearms and shoulders are made from really solid material. Small note — the sizing is a bit generous. I am 184 cm tall and about 95 kg, and size L was too big. M fit perfectly though.
