The second version of the Helikon hat introduces several positive improvements, such as the possibility to attach a patch at the back (e.g. a flag) and an orange lining, thanks to which you can turn the hat inside out if necessary.
Helikon Boonie Mk2 NyCo Rip-Stop Hat - MultiCam
A hat with a lightweight construction, made of materials characterized by quick drying and high durability. It will prove useful both on a daily basis as an effective protection from the sun, as well as during any activity during outdoor or survival expeditions.
NyCo Rip-Stop material, reflective interior
Hat was made of NyCo fabric, which is a blend of nylon and cotton. The fabric has been reinforced with a Rip-Stop weave , which prevents further ripping and tearing of the material, even after local damage. The inside of the hat is equipped with a reflective layer, so that in an emergency situation it can be used to mark the wearer or to signal his position. A special loop has also been used to allow attachment to the Helikon Raid sweatshirt.
Ventilation holes, wide brim
The hat is equipped with four vents with a grille to prevent the entry of insects. The wide brim provides protection from the sun and rain. The Mk2 model features a drawstring that allows length adjustment for neck support. A tape has been sewn above the brim to allow attachment of small items (e.g. insect repellent, camouflage elements).
Main features
- quick-drying NyCo fabric

Camouflage MultiCam
MultiCam is a state-of-the-art camouflage pattern developed in 2002 by US company Crye Precision in cooperation with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior program. Its goal was to create a versatile camouflage pattern that is effective in varied terrain and changing environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern consists of seven colors, creating gradient transitions between shades of green, brown and beige. As a result, it dynamically adapts to the background, adopting shades of green in forested areas or browns and beiges in desert regions - in Central and Eastern European environments, it works particularly well in autumn and among dry vegetation. MultiCam has gained worldwide recognition and is used by numerous armed forces and special units. In 2010, the camouflage was officially adopted by the US Army as the camouflage pattern for soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, replacing the earlier Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also available to civilian users, making it a popular choice among military or airsoft enthusiasts.

The hat is excellent. It’s my first one in a long time and I’m very pleased with the quality of workmanship. The cord at the back keeps the hat securely on my head, and the colour isn’t too bright. If you’re unsure about the size, it’s better to choose the larger one – with a head circumference of 56 cm, size M was suitable, although the second hat I bought turned out to be a little looser. Highly recommended.

The hat is initially stiff when you take it out, but after the first wash it fits your needs well. It's perfect for wildwood-style activities, and works best with a single-ear headset, though it doesn't get in the way when using active headphones either.
