The only downside is the fabric sides of the pouch, which have some kind of protrusions at the top. They can catch on the magazine when inserting it. However, once the magazine is in place, it holds securely, although putting it in isn't as convenient as it could be.

The pouch works well and easily fits AR and AK magazines (although these stick out quite noticeably, which can be uncomfortable). I think even larger magazines, like those for the M14 or Dragunov, would also fit and stay stable. The magazines are quite well secured, but for certainty, it's worth using a blocking band. The downside is the difficulty in connecting two pouches together. Another inconvenience is the length of the bands, which stick out after being tightened and there is nowhere to tuck them in.

Great pouch, allows for very quick removal of the magazine, and there is no fear that it will fall out on its own.

Great mag pouch, easily fits AK and AR magazines, as well as other items of similar size, such as a radio. I definitely recommend this product.
