Fjord Nansen Trondeland Sleeping Bag XL Olive Drab 2200 g - left

Durable sleeping bag model in Olive Drab shade, with anatomical mummy shape that supports a natural body position and allows free movement during sleep. Made from robust Rip-Stop polyester, it combines a durable outer shell with MICROfill Super-Therm insulation.

Temperatures and usage conditions

Trondeland sleeping bag temperature ratings according to EN 13537 standard:

  • T-max: 14 C – highest temperature at which sleeping in the bag is possible without overheating,
  • T-comfort: -3 C – lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
  • T-limit: -9 C – minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
  • T-extreme: -29 C – lowest temperature survivable in the sleeping bag. Not recommended for regular use.

210T Rip-Stop polyester, polyamide lining

The outer layer is made from 210T Rip-Stop polyester, which effectively resists abrasion and tearing. The interior is finished with 190T polyamide. The footbox in a basin shape supports the natural position of the feet and improves insulation in that area. Inside there is a pocket for small items and loops for attaching an additional thermal liner.

MICROfill Super-Therm insulation

The sleeping bag uses MICROfill Super-Therm synthetic insulation, notable for its low weight and softness. Its microfiber structure provides high loft and effective thermal insulation. The material retains its properties even after multiple washes.

Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system

The model includes a two-way zipper located on the left side, allowing full opening from both top and bottom. A fluorescent puller makes it easier to use the zipper at night. The Anti-Bite system prevents the fabric from getting caught in the zipper. An internal thermal baffle offers additional protection against heat loss.

Integrated hood, DUO drawcord, thermal collar

The three-dimensional hood effectively protects the head and reduces heat loss. Its design also serves as a barrier against wind and moisture. The DUO drawcord combines elastic and webbing – the elastic allows movement without adjustment, while the rear webbing allows fast width adjustment, which is particularly useful at night. The thermal collar in the form of a down-filled tube with a drawcord at shoulder height effectively limits the inflow of cold air into the bag.

Convenient transport and storage

Practical design makes it easy to carry and store. When packed, the sleeping bag measures 38 x 24 cm and weighs 2200 g, making it ideal for longer hikes and trips.

Included accessories

The set includes a compression sack with a snap buckle that effectively protects the sleeping bag during transport and shields it from dirt and mechanical damage.

Very comfortable and provides lots of warmth.

I tested it at -22°C, I was warm, but I had an extra liner and was dressed. The colour is very noticeable, so if this bothers anyone, it's better to wrap the cover with camouflage tape or dark material. The product is worth its price and can be impregnated.

The sleeping bag is brilliant. I haven't used it in severe frost yet, but at around 0 degrees it was almost too warm.

I finally checked what it's like to sleep in a hammock at -3°C without a jacket and with three pairs of socks – I didn't get cold!

Tested in a tent – very warm. So far, autumn hasn’t allowed me to test it in subzero temperatures, but at +5°C it was a bit too hot and I had to open the sleeping bag. As a winter sleeping bag, I definitely recommend it.
