Exped Ultra 5R LW 1-person mattress
A lightweight mattress with dimensions of 197 x 65 cm and a thickness of 7 cm. Ideal for use during activities such as trekking, cycling trips, mountain camping or long-distance backpacking.
Thermal insulation coefficient R-Value
The model features a thermal insulation coefficient of R-Value 4.8, determined in accordance with the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter defines the level of insulation from the ground - the higher the value, the more effective the reduction of heat loss.
R-Value interpretation used in the outdoor industry:
- 1.0-2.0 - use in summer conditions (night temperatures above approx. 10 st. C),
- 2.1-3.5 - use in spring-summer-autumn (approx. 0-10 st. C),
- 3.6-5.0 - cool conditions, around 0 st. C and sub-zero temperatures down to approx. -5 /-10 st. C,
- 5.1-7.0 - winter use, temperatures below 0 st. C,
- above 7.0 - winter conditions with increased insulation requirements.
Actual thermal comfort depends on the sleeping system (sleeping bag, clothing), ground type and the user’s individual resistance to cold.
Durable and recycled material
The mattress is made from strong, lightweight 20D polyester derived from recycling, with a Rip-Stop weave and TPU protective coating. The welded partition construction eliminates cold spots, offering even support. Additional reinforcements on the sides prevent slipping off the mattress.
Synmat Technology Insulation
It uses a Synmat Technology insulating layer based on air insulation in the inner chambers with adherent Texpedloft fibre, ensuring consistent insulation throughout its use. R-Value of 4.8 corresponds to thermal comfort down to -20 deg. C.
Inflation bag and FlatValve valves
The set includes a Schnozzel Pumpbag UL for quick inflation of the mattress. Two independent FlatValve valves facilitate inflation and deflation.
