Ticks use the Haller's organ on the foot of their first pair of legs to detect hosts. Ultrasound waves at a frequency of 40 kHz emitted by the device disrupt this organ's ability to receive stimuli. Its effective range is approximately 1.5 meters, providing reliable protection.
The device's brown casing is constructed from durable plastic. It complies with IP13 standards, offering defense against foreign objects larger than 50 mm and resistance to water spray from angles up to 60 degrees.
Device operation
The device is initiated by taking out the tab, which triggers the unit, with its function signaled by blinking LEDs. The unit cannot be deactivated and boasts a lifespan of at least six months. To verify battery charge, push the button—if the LED blinks four times behind the grille, the battery is fine. Should there be fewer flashes, replacement of the device is necessary.
TickLess should be fastened to the collar with the grille pointed towards the animal’s body, ensuring that ultrasonic waves can disperse without obstruction.

I've been using this model for two years for two dogs together with Fiprex on the skin. Since then, I haven't had to remove any embedded ticks—sometimes I find a tick walking on the dog, but it doesn't burrow into the skin. It's worth remembering that ticks are active at around +7°C, so they can appear even in a warm February. According to the instructions, the device is not suitable for bathing in the sea. The CR2032 replacement battery is easy to buy and replace, and the Tickless can be opened because the housing is not glued.

In my opinion, the device works. However, due to the high price (outside of promotions) and the fact that it works for me for 7-8 months and is single-use, it's worth thinking carefully before buying. After that period it becomes electronic waste. The product should be designed so you can replace the battery. Then it would make sense ecologically as well.
