The upper section of the gloves is crafted from breathable, lightweight CoolPlus fabric, effectively minimizing hand perspiration and ensuring optimal ventilation. The back of the fingers features Rip-Stop material, which resists tearing and fraying even when locally damaged, offering enhanced abrasion resistance. The grip area utilizes durable 0.6 mm thick synthetic leather, providing a strong grip and control, while allowing the use of touchscreen devices without needing to remove the gloves. The Lock Ring panel safeguards the critical area around the thumb, enhancing the durability of the construction and reducing seam damage.

Cuff with drawstring, 2-piece palm construction

A wide cuff equipped with a drawstring offers enhanced protection and ensures the gloves stay firmly on the wrist. The opening is quite spacious, facilitating easy putting on. The 2-piece inner palm design minimizes curling and gathering, enhancing the gloves' fit. The lower palm section includes ventilated padding, which boosts air circulation and guards against injuries.

ANSI/ISEA 105-3XX and EN388-2121X standards

The gloves meet the American safety standard ANSI/ISEA 105 level 3XX in terms of cut, abrasion, and puncture resistance, which means:

  • 3: abrasion resistance (on a scale from 1 to 6)
  • X: cut resistance (on a scale from A1 to A9)
  • X: puncture resistance (on a scale from 0 to 5)

The gloves meet the safety standard EN388 level 2121X in terms of mechanical performance, which means:

  • 2: abrasion resistance (on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • 1: cut resistance (on a scale from 0 to 5)
  • 2: tear resistance (on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • 1: puncture resistance (on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • X: cut resistance - TDM test (ISO 13997) (on a scale A-F)

In the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, abrasion resistance is rated on a scale from 1 to 6 and refers to the number of cycles the material can withstand before wearing out. Cut resistance is classified on a scale from A1 to A9 (from the lowest to the highest level of protection). Puncture resistance is rated on a scale from 0 to 5 and indicates the force required to puncture the glove surface with a sharp spike (not applicable to needle punctures).

The scales provided in the EN388 standard indicate the level of protection of the gloves: a value of 0 means no protection, while the highest values (4, 5) indicate the maximum level of resistance.

In the TDM test method (ISO 13997), letter designations are used, where A represents the lowest level of protection and F the highest.

The X designation means that the given parameter was not tested or is not applicable.

    In the category of tactical gloves, the FastFit by Mechanix is already a classic choice. They don’t have unnecessary reinforcements or protectors – they’re simply solid gloves. Inside, there’s synthetic leather, and the outside features a breathable material, which makes them perfect for summer. They fit well, so compared to wider models like M-Pact or Original, I recommend those with larger hands consider a bigger size.

    These are lightweight gloves, great for summer and very well suited for shooting. For heavier tasks, such as working with rough wood, they perform only average, because the material wears out fairly quickly. They fit well on the hand, and if you have doubts about the size, with the Fastfit model it is worth choosing the larger one.

    I find this glove model to be a great choice for outdoor activities. I use them for single or multi-day mountain hikes, especially on rugged terrain where a fall could result in hand injuries. They also provide protection when handling ropes, firewood, or rocks. Furthermore, they offer moderate insulation against the cold without becoming uncomfortably hot in the middle of summer. Mechanix has a solid reputation for quality, and this is evident in the construction of these gloves. The material used on the palms and fingers ensures a secure grip and allows for touchscreen use. They are lightweight and flexible, making them easy to stow in almost any pocket. The elastic cuff keeps them securely in place on the wrist, although I would have preferred a velcro strap for a more adjustable fit. They feature a loop that allows them to be hung from a carabiner or ring. At the sale price of €9.30, I think they are hard to beat. Regarding sizing, I normally wear a size 9 in work and household cleaning gloves; for these Mechanix gloves, I chose XL, and they fit well, albeit a bit snugly.

    These are basic Mechanix gloves that perform great for any hard work at the shooting range and in the field. However, you have to keep one drawback in mind — they soak up water very quickly, and just a moment of contact with a wet surface is enough for them to get soaked right away.

    You can not go wrong with Mechanix gloves. These are not my first pair. My first lasted years of medium use. The durability is good, fit is good too, they are comfortable to wear. Especially for the price you get a good dependable product, available in plenty of colors. Since these are often sold at discounted prices on the Military site, they are really a no brainer.
