The shoes worked great during hikes on mountain trails in Madeira. Since the conditions there are humid and warm, I was looking for waterproof yet lightweight shoes—and these met all my expectations. They are durable, provide good stability, but are not heavy. Wearing them is comfortable even at higher temperatures, and my feet do not get tired. The sole provides traction on different surfaces. Additionally, I really like their appearance.

I rate the shoes a strong four out of five. Like most Columbia products, you can put them on right out of the box and go outside. They are comfortable, fit well, and hold the foot securely, and the waterproofing—which I tested during recent rains—is also flawless. On the downside, I would point out the tongue, which is too short and lacks a loop or grip, as well as the weak traction of the sole. The shoes perform best in the forest or on gravel, and are less suitable for rocky terrains.

My wife is extremely satisfied. On her first outing, without any prior breaking-in, she walked several kilometers in the mountains and, despite having sensitive feet, she did not feel any discomfort. Size 40.5 turned out to be a bit too small, so we exchanged them for 41. WE RECOMMEND!

After autumn and winter I can share my opinion about these shoes. They are great – light and durable, worn every day. They still look almost like new. Just regularly clean off the slush and there’s no problem.

After two weeks of wearing them (I know, it's a short time, but I’ll add more observations later) I think the shoes are very comfortable. I’ve already done three 20-kilometer hikes in the forest and have nothing to complain about. The size matches the description – 45 is really 45. They also look very good :-).
