Very good sleeping bag. I use it together with the Carinthia Observer Plus and the Snugpak Special Forces bivi bag cover – for me, this combination works great. It's a bit large, but compressing it definitely reduces its volume, and the Carinthia performs well here. I definitely recommend it.

The Defence 4 sleeping bag's operational temperatures are determined in accordance with the EN 13537 standard:
- T-comfort: -8.8°C – Indicates the lowest temperature where a woman can sleep comfortably overnight.
- T-limit: -15°C – Signifies the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without experiencing discomfort.
- T-extreme: -35°C – Represents the lowest temperature for survival in the sleeping bag, not advised for regular use.
G-Loft insulation, Thermoflect
The interior of the sleeping bag features filling with G-Loft synthetic down, which effectively supports the maintenance of thermal comfort. This insulating material preserves its properties even after being exposed to water, laundering, or intensive use. The Thermoflect layer reflects body heat, trapping it inside to enhance insulation efficiency. The outer shell is larger and does not directly adhere to the interior, creating an additional thermal barrier.

Central zipper, Anti Snag system
The sleeping bag is equipped with a centrally located two-way zipper that permits it to be fully opened. An Anti Snag system safeguards the fabric from being caught in the zipper. An insulated draft tube alongside the zipper serves to prevent cold air from seeping in. At the top of the zipper, a Velcro flap ensures it remains securely closed. The trapezoidal footbox design provides ample space for the feet while enhancing heat retention.
Integrated hood for cold protection
The model features a shaped hood with an adjustable face opening that can be customized using drawcords to improve protection against the cold.

This is one of the best winter sleeping bags available on the market. I have been using it for nearly a decade and it still performs great. It provides warmth, allows you to breathe, and wicks away moisture well. It stands out for its high-quality workmanship and use of premium materials. However, its downside is its fairly large packed size.

The sleeping bag is very warm, consistent with the declared parameters. Even in humid conditions, it maintains thermal comfort. I've had it for several years now and haven't noticed any decline in quality. I washed it in specialized detergents and it hasn't lost its properties.
