Usage temperatures for the Defence 4 sleeping bag are established according to the EN 13537 standard:

• T-comfort: -8.8 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably throughout the night,
• T-limit: -15 C – the minimum temperature where a man can sleep without discomfort,
• T-extreme: -35 C – the lowest survival temperature for the sleeping bag. Not recommended for regular use.

The interior of the sleeping bag is packed with G-Loft synthetic down, which efficiently preserves thermal comfort. This insulating material maintains its qualities even after exposure to moisture, laundering, or extensive use. The Thermoflect layer reflects body warmth and retains it internally, enhancing insulation efficiency. The outer shell is more spacious and does not adhere directly to the interior, forming an additional thermal barrier.

The Defence 4 model serves as an outer thermal layer when combined with other sleeping bags. This setup enhances thermal efficiency, aids in moisture management, and boosts comfort levels in temperatures as low as -20°C. The Sleeping Bag System - Tropen technology, along with modern materials, ensures a lightweight and compact package when stored.

The sleeping bag is equipped with a centrally located two-way zipper, allowing for complete opening. The Anti Snag system ensures the fabric doesn't catch in the zipper. An insulated draft tube runs along the zipper to prevent cold air from seeping in. A Velcro flap at the zipper's top secures it against accidental opening. The trapezoidal footbox design enhances foot space and boosts heat retention.

The model includes a contoured hood with an adjustable face opening, allowing for personalized adjustment using drawcords to improve protection against the cold.

MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern that was created in 2002 by the US company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior program. MultiCam has attained global acclaim and is utilized by numerous military forces and special units worldwide. In 2010, the US Army officially adopted the camouflage for soldiers deployed in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). This pattern is also accessible to civilian users, making it a favored choice among military and airsoft enthusiasts.
