TickLess – ultrasonic tick protection is a compact, lightweight device that emits ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, inaudible to both humans and domestic animals.

Ticks are carriers of dangerous diseases, including Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Using the device helps reduce the likelihood of bites, thus lowering the risk of infection.

Ticks use the Haller’s organ, located on their front legs, to locate a host. The ultrasonic waves at 40 kHz emitted by the device disrupt this organ’s function, making it harder for the tick to detect its target. The effective range is about 1.5 meters, providing an adequate level of protection.
The durable pink housing is made of robust plastic. The device meets IP13 standards, providing resistance against penetration by objects larger than 50 mm and protection from water spray at a 60-degree angle from various directions.
Device operation
The device is activated by removing the tab, which turns it on. Operation is signaled by LED flashes. It cannot be turned off and has a minimum lifespan of 6 months. To check battery status, press the button – if the LED under the grille flashes four times, the device is functioning properly. Fewer flashes mean it needs replacing.
TickLess should be attached to the collar with the grille facing the animal’s body – this allows proper dispersion of the ultrasonic waves.

I've been using this model for two years on two dogs together with Fiprex applied to the skin. Since then, I haven't had to remove any embedded ticks – sometimes you might find a tick walking on the dog, but it doesn't latch onto the skin. It's worth remembering that ticks become active at about +7°C, so they might even appear in a warm February. According to the instructions, the device is not suitable for bathing in the sea. The replaceable CR2032 battery is easy to buy and change, and you can open the Tickless because the casing is not glued.

In my opinion, the device works. However, due to the high price (not including promotions) and the fact that it works for 7-8 months and is single-use, it is worth considering the purchase carefully. After this period it becomes electronic waste. The product should be made so the battery can be replaced. Then it would also make sense ecologically.
