I'm not sure if it's really 1200 grit, but the whetstone works and polishes the blade well. It can get clogged quite quickly, but it's easy to clean. Overall, I recommend it due to the favourable price.

I bought it to give the blade a final finish after the sharpening process. I don't use any machine, but hand sharpening works just as well. The stone does its job.
