Salewa Alpine-Tec 50 cm Travel Ice Axe - Night/Black

A lightweight hybrid ice axe featuring an aggressive blade and minimalist handle for both easier and more challenging mountaineering in steep, technical terrain.

It is equipped with a shaft made of durable 7075 aluminum, which is characterized by high resistance. Thanks to its slight curve, it is also suitable for ice climbing. The head is made of carbon steel and equipped with a 3-millimeter blade on one side, and a hammer on the other.

The model is characterized by a shorter design (50 cm) and a slightly larger curve compared to the classic Alpine-X with a straight shaft. The ergonomically contoured head ensures the fit of the ice axe to the hand, which increases comfort when using it as a support during approaches and descents. At the bottom of the shaft is a sharp, replaceable carbide tip that provides better grip when moving through hard snow or ice.
