The second-generation ECWCS waterproof light jacket in woodland camouflage is made from a three-layer laminate, guaranteeing excellent protection against wind and water. The material simultaneously allows vapour to pass through, reducing the risk of overheating during intensive exertion.
The outer layer of the light jacket consists of 96% polyester with a 3% addition of elastane. The interior of the jacket is equipped with a breathable polyurethane membrane. Under the jacket, there is a detachable, warm fleece liner, making it suitable not only for spring and autumn but also for winter. The winter character of the Wet Weather Jacket model is confirmed by a snow skirt that prevents snow from entering under the jacket.
The model features seven pockets:
- two large hip pockets with waterproof zips,
- two sleeve pockets with velcro and waterproof zips,
- a large pocket in the back lining fastened with velcro,
- two side pockets with zips in the liner.
The jacket is closed with a two-way YKK® zipper, additionally secured with a double strip. Ventilation openings under the armpits with zips are used for better air circulation.
The high collar and hood effectively protect the head and neck from the cold and wind. Cuffs with velcro fastenings allow for adjustment and fitting to the wrist. All seams in the outer jacket are taped.

Woodland Camouflage
Woodland, also known as US Woodland or M81, is a classic camouflage pattern introduced to the American armed forces in the early 1980s, based on the earlier ERDL camouflage. For over two decades, it remained the standard pattern used by the US military until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. It is characterised by large, irregular splotches in shades of green, brown, beige, and black, which provide good concealment and distortion properties, especially in forested areas. Thanks to its effectiveness and global recognition, it has spawned numerous variations that have been adopted by over 60 military formations worldwide. I've been using this jacket for two years and I have mixed feelings.
Its camouflage pattern is very effective – it's practically invisible, even from 10 metres away in the right conditions. The spacious pockets and the option to detach the fleece lining, which can be worn separately, are big advantages. The two-way zip and underarm zips are also a plus. Unfortunately, most of the zips are stiff, which makes them difficult to operate with one hand. The jacket is suitable for temperatures between 0 and 20 degrees, which is quite a wide range. However, during intense activity, you sweat a lot, even without the lining.
The waterproofing is rather poor, as is the breathability.
The fleece lining is attached at the ends of the sleeves with only one snap, making it hard to take off. In practice, the poorly designed snap connecting the fleece to the outer layer at the hanging loop fell off within the first few months, and after two years the frequently used zip on the sleeve is failing and won't close.

I tried on the jacket after collecting it and returned it, immediately ordering a smaller size. I have the impression that the sizes are a bit larger than standard. The jacket itself feels solid, and the fleece lining also looks good. The weight is similar to the ECWSC USA gen.I (without lining), but this jacket is slightly longer. I liked it enough that I ordered a smaller size right away. I will keep trying until I find the right size ;-)

The jacket has been sewn solidly and has no faults or imperfections. Even after removing the insulation, it remains warm. The camouflage works excellently. The jacket is practical, has many spacious pockets, a high collar and a hood with a peak. A nice feature is the option to unzip the sides under the arms for ventilation. I recommend measuring yourself carefully before buying and checking the jacket sizes.

It has a warm lining, a practical hood and a high stand-up collar that protects your neck well from the wind. My measurements are 190 cm tall, 120 cm chest, 113 kg in weight and 101 cm waist.

The jacket is very nice, keeps you warm and has a high collar and hood. You can see it is well made and doesn't resemble cheap products from China. I recommend paying attention to the sizing – the sizes are not precise, the clothes are larger than the description suggests. I assumed they would be smaller and ordered 3XL (I am 113 kg, 190 cm tall, waist 102 cm, chest 120 cm), but the jacket turned out to be much too loose, as if I had put on a sheet or a bag like the Groke from the Moomins. Now I have chosen XL. I had the same problem with the trousers from this series – for 3XL the waist was actually too big, and even after tightening the strings, there was still a lot of slack, so I also ordered XL. The clothes are well made and will be great for photographing animals.

Good morning, I have this jacket, it looks great, I recommend it. However, I think the sleeves and zip fastening could be designed differently, as the current version is not very comfortable for me, although some people might like it. It looks good, the cut provides some comfort, it's effective in the rain and warm, but it's more of an imitation than a real jacket – suitable only for careful city use. The quality is very poor. I wouldn't decide to take it outdoors. Breathability is unfortunately just in theory. I give two stars for quality and durability, and one additional star for versatility during business trips – when an outfit matching a blazer is needed, as well as after work.

Great jacket, I decided to buy it at full price as a birthday present. The person who received it says it's very comfortable, and the included fleece is a big plus as you don't need to look for a separate liner. After a trip outdoors, I also heard a funny comment: "...I didn't feel at all under the jacket that I was sweating...", which shows the material is very breathable. In summary, the jacket is still being tested, but everything indicates that it's really worth considering.
