The gloves seem to be very warm (although I haven't had a chance to use them yet), but in my opinion they have two significant drawbacks: firstly, if someone is looking for cheap shooting gloves and thinks that Mechanix will be suitable, they will be disappointed – these are typically work gloves, not for the shooting range, and they are too stiff for this activity. The second issue is the size – I chose L according to the table, and although they fit very well in width, there's quite a bit of slack in the fingers, so I wish they were either shorter in the fingers or less tight on the hand.
Mechanix Speedknit Thermal Tactical Gloves Black
Tactical gloves in classic black, crafted from a durable blend of nylon and acrylic. The outer layer is coated with nitrile fabric, offering effective protection against wind and moisture. The acrylic knit insulation delivers reliable warmth, ensuring thermal comfort in cooler conditions.
durable materials, touchscreen capability
The palm surface is made from sanded nitrile. Its textured, non-slip coating allows for touchscreen use, provides a secure grip, and enhances precision when handling detailed tasks. A further benefit is the compression cuffs, which offer a snug fit while shielding against the cold. The gloves are machine washable.
ANSI/ISEA 105-6A2X and EN388-3331X and EN511-12X standards
The gloves meet the American protective standard ANSI/ISEA 105 at level 6A2X for cut, abrasion, and puncture resistance, which means:
- 6: abrasion resistance (on a scale from 1 to 6)
- A2: cut resistance (on a scale from A1 to A9)
- X: puncture resistance (on a scale from 0 to 5)
They comply with the protective standard EN388 at level 3331X in terms of resistance to mechanical hazards, which means:
- 3: abrasion resistance (scale 0–4)
- 3: cut resistance (scale 0–5)
- 3: tear resistance (scale 0–4)
- 1: puncture resistance (scale 0–4)
- X: cut resistance – TDM test (ISO 13997) (scale A–F)
Cold protection complies with the EN511 standard at level 12X, which means:
- 1: resistance to convective cold (scale 0–4)
- 2: resistance to contact cold (scale 0–4)
- X: water penetration resistance (0 or 1)
In the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, abrasion resistance is rated on a scale from 1 to 6 and refers to the number of cycles the material can withstand before wear. Cut resistance is classified on a scale from A1 to A9 (from the lowest to the highest level of protection). Puncture resistance is defined on a scale from 0 to 5 and indicates the force required to puncture the glove surface with a sharp probe (excluding needle punctures).
The scales specified in EN388 and EN511 standards indicate the level of glove protection: a value of 0 means no protection, while the highest values (4, 5) indicate the maximum level of resistance. For water penetration resistance: 0 means penetration, and 1 means no penetration.
In the TDM test method (ISO 13997), letter markings are used, where A indicates the lowest protection and F the highest.
The X marking indicates that a given parameter was not tested or is not applicable.

I bought them with snow clearing in mind, but winter weather hasn't arrived yet. However, even in dry conditions, you can see a huge difference compared to so-called 'vampire' gloves. The gloves are flexible, fit well, and provide warmth. I'm not sure about their breathability. They won’t work at -30 degrees, but in temperatures from -10 to +10 they will do their job well.
-
Very good work gloves. They are exceptionally warm, comfortable, and perfect for manual work. An additional advantage is the wide range of sizes and the traditional black colour.
-
Great gloves for working in low temperatures, but they also work well for regular outdoor walks. They are comfortable, stretchy, and keep warmth well, though they get dirty easily. This is already my second purchase of this product.
-
This time, when choosing another pair of Mechanix gloves, I was tempted by their attractive promotional price. However, I truly appreciated them only after putting them on – they are not only warm but also have an outer layer resembling rubber, which improves grip and protects hands from the cold. They are perfect for winter, not just for shovelling snow. A great choice and excellent workmanship.

Mechanix SpeedKnit Thermal – great for winter: they keep your hands warm, fit perfectly and don’t restrict movement. Excellent choice for cold days.
-
I bought these gloves to get free delivery, I didn’t expect them to be so good. They are sturdy, comfortable and keep your hands warm well – even if I had paid twice as much I’d still be satisfied.
-
Great gloves for cold, wet days. Very comfortable. Quite thick, not for precision work, but they aren't made for that. This is already my second purchase, I honestly recommend.
-
Sturdy gloves for tough winter conditions and increased humidity. The inner material improves grip on wet items. I recommend them for demanding users.
-
I've been using them as everyday winter gloves for the second season already. Only snowboard gloves are warmer, and with these I can work and they're still like new. If they get ruined, I'll buy another pair without hesitation.
-
Durable gloves, they fit the wrist well, and have a rough, rubberised surface – this improves the grip. Fingers are covered with a waterproof layer (haven't checked yet). They protect against the cold effectively. My wife is also satisfied.
-
Great value for money. Inside they are warm, and on the outside they look rubberised. I think they’re waterproof. Well-made gloves. I recommend them and send my best regards.
-
Good gloves for work around the house – from shovelling snow to carrying things. Stiff, not suitable for operating smartphones. Typical, well-insulated work gloves. I’d happily buy more as a spare, but the current ones will probably last a long time.
-
Great price-to-quality ratio. The interior is warm, on the outside they look rubberised. I guess they are waterproof. Solid workmanship. I recommend and best regards.

At first glance – strong, warm work gloves for home and car use. Ideal for snow shovelling and working in wet conditions. They're a bit stiff, reminiscent of rubber gloves. Not for precision tasks, but they work well with touchscreens (depends on the size of screen/buttons). Not suitable for photography, you can't feel the shutter button. Driving a car requires getting used to, as they are stiff. Size as declared. Only the fifth finger is a bit too long, but it doesn't affect usage.
