Maskpol TM-02 Tactical Belt TM-03 - MAPA

Durable tactical belt made of dense weave polyester webbing in MAPA camouflage. The outer belt is equipped with laser-made notches in accordance with the MOLLE mounting standard. This allows for easy carrying of basic tactical equipment at the belt. The belt 's fastener is a heavy-duty CobraÂŽ FC45 buckle, which ensures easy operation of the latch, regardless of the amount of equipment mounted on the belt. The inner side of the outer belt is lined with Velcro, which allows easy installation on the inner belt.

The included inner belt is reinforced with double stitching and is smoothly adjustable with Velcro. The width of the set is 45 mm, which allows the belt to be used together with most tactical trousers.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the wz.93 camouflage. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

The most important features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:

- 6 colors that create layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the pattern similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.
