I tested the firelighter in damp conditions – the only problem was on my side, because I tried to start a fire on uneven ground and the shavings spilled out. It catches fire quickly, you only need a little product, but you have to be careful not to smother the flame with sticks that are too large. The shaved pieces burn well and don't go out. I recommend it as an alternative to paraffin firelighters (although it's worth keeping some as a backup). There are 5 “sticks” in the pack, which are enough for several fires if used properly.
