Helikon Meriono Socks - Olive Green/Coyote

Midweight trekking socks by Helikon-Tex, made of 79% Merino wool. They retain warmth even when wet, and flat seams enhance comfort and reduce the risk of chafing while walking.

Merino Wool

The socks are made of 79% natural Merino wool, 18% nylon, and 3% elastane. Merino wool has natural antibacterial properties, so the socks resist unpleasant odors even after extended use. The fabric is gentle on the skin and maintains thermal insulation even when damp. Nylon adds durability and abrasion resistance, while elastane ensures flexibility and a snug fit.

Flat seams

The socks feature a minimal number of seams to reduce the risk of chafing. Flat joins are barely noticeable against the skin and prevent irritation even during long hikes. Ventilation panels on the top help with moisture wicking. The elastic cuff ensures a snug fit around the ankle.

Main features

  • made of 79% Merino wool
  • flat seams that do not cause irritation
  • medium thickness suitable for transitional and low temperatures
  • elastic cuff at the ankle
  • natural material does not absorb odors

I do not recommend these socks. After the first use, they became very pilled, and after the next use, a hole appeared in one, which I had to sew up. The socks are warm, but when it comes to durability, they perform poorly.

Great socks – for military and trekking boots, I only recommend merino! After washing, there is a slight pilling, but it doesn't bother you in socks. Very comfortable, your feet don't produce an unpleasant smell, and they provide comfort both in the heat and in winter. I have several pairs and they work well all year round.

Good socks from a Polish company. I have various merino wool models and these perform very well, are of medium thickness and dry quickly. Thanks to the addition of nylon and elastane, they are less prone to pilling and more durable. Suitable for everyday use and for trips to the mountains or the forest. I recommend them.

Very comfortable socks. Bonus points for including elastane and nylon, which make them quicker to dry. After a night in a sleeping bag, my socks were dry and ready to put back on in the morning.

Above all, fast delivery from Militaria – huge plus. The socks are very nice, made from solid material. They fit a slender foot. Highly recommend.

The socks proved themselves during hours-long rain over a two-day hike through the forest at temperatures of 15-18 degrees, combined with LOWA Combat Boot MK2 GTX Boots. In my opinion, they deserve 10/10. They are worth recommending – my feet weren’t tired or sweaty, and the comfort was at a high level. I’m curious how they’ll look after a longer period and more washes.

After testing two pairs in various conditions, I bought another four. It's just a shame they don’t come in other colours... They're OK. I recommend them!

The socks are fairly lightweight, but thanks to the wool, your feet stay dry. After a whole day, there’s still no unpleasant odour. The cuff is comfortable and the seams do not cause discomfort. It’s important to wash them at a maximum of 30°C on a wool cycle. Highly recommended.

Helikon Merino Olive Green/Coyote socks are my favourite for demanding conditions. In winter, even in February, they provided great protection – I didn’t put on an extra pair at night, and during the day they kept my feet warm without overheating. They wick moisture well and don’t cause rubbing, even when walking in rough terrain. From now on, I’ll only use these for tough trips.

Very warm and comfortable socks, feet hardly sweat in them at all. After a whole day outdoors, I can confirm that they’re worth their price.

I tested them today as a second layer over a thin sock and they worked great. My feet were happy, I really like the additional reinforcement on the toes and sole, which extends to the heel. They keep feet warm but don’t overheat. Very good.

Comfortable and warm socks, even after a week of use without washing they don’t have an unpleasant smell. They don’t chafe and at this price it’s hard to find better in terms of merino.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend them – although they are warm and comfortable, after the first wash they started to pill and look worn out. In my opinion, they’re not worth the price.

Very good quality socks. It's rare to find as much as 80% merino wool at this price. They fit well and don't press on the foot. They keep your feet warm even in colder days.

Good socks, worth their price. They protect feet from rubbing both in winter and in summer. On cold days they keep the warmth well and at the same time do not make your feet sweat, so they meet my expectations.
