I already have several backpacks, but this one tempted me as well. I use several Helikon products and I'm always satisfied with the quality. This backpack also met my expectations. It's a bit 'baggy' – when empty it looks less impressive ;) but it's very spacious and has plenty of additional places to attach gear or pouches. The straps are wide and comfortable. The reinforced back works well. If you find it at a good price, it's worth getting without hesitation.
Matilda backpack from the Bushcraft Line series is the result of cooperation between Helikon and SurvivalTech, designed for survival enthusiasts and long field trips. With a capacity of 50 litres, it allows you to comfortably carry all the equipment you need for a few days' escapade. Its solid construction and well-thought-out space organisation system make it a reliable companion for any adventure.
The backpack is made of proven, durable materials, such as 500D Cordura and 210D nylon, which ensure resistance to mechanical damage and harsh weather conditions. The 39-litre main compartment and external pockets are secured with flaps, under which there are adjustable extenions with drawstrings. This solution effectively protects the contents from dirt, moisture and accidental loss of equipment.
The backpack has been designed for maximum functionality and is equipped with a MOLLE/PALS strap system on the hip strap, sides, front and inside the main compartment. This allows for convenient attachment of additional pockets and accessories, enabling the backpack to be configured to suit individual needs. The side straps allow you to attach a sleeping pad or tent, while the four straps on the bottom allow you to attach a sleeping bag or jacket with straps or paracord.
Carrying comfort is ensured by an ergonomic carrying system consisting of a plastic-reinforced back and an aluminium frame. The whole is complemented by cushioned pads covered with breathable mesh, improving air circulation and increasing comfort during long walks. Body-contoured wide shoulder straps and an adjustable hip strap with a detachable buckle distribute the weight of the equipment evenly, significantly reducing the load on the back.
The Matilda model has many well-thought-out details that increase its functionality. The main compartment features MOLLE straps and a strap for attaching a water tank, and the hydration system tube outlets are located on both sides of the backpack. The flap, closed with two sturdy buckles, is equipped with an elastic trim and a zippered pocket, and its interior hides a mesh compartment also secured with a zipper. Three front pockets, metal drains at the bottom and grommets for safe carrying of an axe or knife are further features that make this backpack extremely practical.
High-quality workmanship, the use of YKK zips and ergonomic solutions mean that the Matilda backpack will meet the expectations of even the most demanding users. Additional features, such as side compression straps, a carrying handle, a 9 x 5 cm Velcro panel and adjustable shoulder straps with a chest strap and quick-release buckles, make it the perfect choice for both long trips and everyday use in the field.

This is the best backpack I’ve had so far – it performed well on the training ground, during marches and at the border. It has a durable construction, no loose threads stick out and it doesn’t let rain through. It was loaded to the maximum and weighed down, yet the material stayed intact and the plastic parts withstood being stepped on, squashed and hit. Despite a smaller capacity than standard mountain backpacks, I definitely prefer using it over a military backpack.
-
A very good backpack, I use it during trips to various abandoned locations where it's easy to get scratches. Despite that, it still looks like new. I recommend it.
-
Very good backpack, I did not expect such high quality. Wide, stiff straps. The colour is slightly lighter than in the photo. Very spacious. I wholeheartedly recommend this model.

I don't regret buying it. Thanks to using KSK points I paid 290 PLN, and I think it's hard to find something better for this price. A big advantage is the use of Cordura, the capacity, the possibility of attaching additional pockets, the reinforced back, the hip belt and the chest strap. I definitely recommend it.

A very sturdy, spacious and practical backpack. After five outings with a load of 15–24 kg, it performed excellently. It also works flawlessly in the woods and does not absorb moisture from the surroundings. It also survived luggage compartment transport in a plane without damage.
-
It is very comfortable and spacious. The price may be a bit high, but it is worth paying extra for this level of quality.
-
This is the best backpack I've ever had – it fits everything needed for a few days. Don't worry about the price, it's worth buying. Helikon is a brand you can trust.
-
It is solid, fits the body well, and the straps do not cause any discomfort.

Great backpack for trips. The well-thought-out design with the frame makes it easy to pack for a two or three day outing in the forest. The outer pockets are very capacious and easily fit, for example, a rolled-up jacket, food, or canteens. The main compartment is spacious and even holds large sleeping bags, of course after compression, and after closing the lid you gain even more space. The backpack has been used in various conditions – forests, mountains, kayaking, lakes – and has never failed, with no signs of damage.
-
The backpack proved itself during my first trips to the forest. At the moment, I have no complaints. It has a solid construction, the main compartment is very spacious, and the pockets also hold a lot of things, so it’s easy to organise all the gear. It’s great for trips lasting 2-3 days. This is exactly the model I was looking for.

Bought at a promotional price. After the first trip – very positive impressions. The backpack should serve for a long time.

I hesitated for a long time before buying this backpack. I’ve been using it for almost two years now and don’t see any major flaws. It easily fits a tarp, hammock, sleeping bag, burner, hatchet, water and there’s still some space left. Now I’m ordering additional scout or E&E pouch pockets so that the gear is easily accessible without having to dig deep into the backpack. The hip belt is very comfortable.
-
Excellent, especially for people who like to have everything within arm’s reach. The side adjustment straps mean that even a larger tent stays securely as if it were part of the backpack. The hip belt is very comfortable and can be easily adjusted thanks to the MOLLE system. The main compartment is much more spacious than I expected – I have the impression the backpack offers more space than the declared 35 litres. By adding a dump bag and E&E pouch, you gain even more space. I recommend it to everyone who doesn't prioritise ultralight equipment.

The backpack is based on the proven Alice design, adapted for bushcraft needs. It performs excellently when used in the forest.
