The Observer range of bivvy shelters has long been a trendsetter, recognised by many European armies, including the Polish army—although in our case the military uses a typical unlicensed copy made from lower quality materials. While Observer tents are definitely expensive, this is due to the renowned manufacturer, European-based factories and the use of an advanced laminate with an original Gore-Tex membrane coated on both sides with polyamide, whereas standard tents more often use polyester. This translates into much greater resistance to damage compared to traditional tents, and ensures long-term waterproofness without the effect of a 'foil bag'. Setting up the Observer does not require tent pegs, and the process is simple—especially since it can be packed together with the mat and attached to a backpack, which means it doesn’t take up space and doesn’t dirty the inside of your luggage.
