During physical activity, it is necessary to maintain the comfort of our body by properly wicking away excess moisture. It is imperative to choose the right breathable clothing that will keep us comfortable during our activities.
Thermal clothing is an essential piece of clothing for any strenuous activity. Whether you are training at the gym, hiking or working in a physically demanding profession.
At MILITARY.EU, we offer a wide range of breathable, thermal clothing for both men and women, that keeps you warm while wicking away excess heat along with moisture. Due to its hydrophobic properties, thermal clothing does not retain moisture next to the body, keeping the wearer feeling dry and comfortable.
For functional clothing, such as thermal clothing, the performance is based on synthetic materials specially selected for their ability to efficiently draw sweat and moisture from the skin outwards. This keeps our body dry, even during intense physical activity. To protect our body from hypothermia, we recommend layering clothing. This will result in functional clothing that is adapted to the prevailing conditions and will wick away excess moisture while maintaining thermal insulation.
The most common classification of thermal clothing layers is:
- thermal underwear (close to the skin, wicking away moisture), e.g. a thermal set from Helikon,
- mid layer, providing thermal insulation, e.g. Under Armour thermal sweatshirt,
- an outer layer to protect you from water and wind - here a jacket with a membrane, such as the Pentagon, is ideal.
Wearing thermal clothing, you are not exposed to the unpleasant feeling of soaked clothing that is typical when wearing non-breathable products. These situations cause great discomfort during activity, further exposing the body to becoming hypothermic. Men's thermal clothing is mostly made of quick-drying materials such as polyester and tight-fitting materials such as elastane. Many products are designed by manufacturers with patented innovative technologies to enhance their functionality. Under Armour thermal clothing is often made from HeatGear fabric, which optimises body temperature, or the quick drying Charged Cottor cotton. On the other hand, Columbia offers customers a solution called Omni-Heat Reflective, which effectively retains heat generated by the body.
Within the thermal clothing category, you will find breathable underwear, T-shirts as well as clothing for colder days - fleeces and jackets. You can also complement your wardrobe with useful scarves and hats. All the offered products originate from leading Polish and foreign manufacturers of accessories, sports and survival clothing such as Texar, Helikon, 4F, Under Armour and many others. These companies apply innovative technological solutions, guaranteeing an even higher level of comfort.
