Superb black sunglasses from the Wiley X brand. I particularly appreciate the Gravity series because they offer us durable and very stylish glasses. The fact that you can change the lenses yourself is truly an advantage!! This is an item I highly recommend!
Wiley X Gravity tactical glasses - Smoke Grey
Wiley X Glasses from the Black Ops series are designed for everyday use and feature a sporty appearance. They also belong to the Climate Control series, providing maximum comfort during activities with high airflow, such as cycling. The set with the glasses includes a hard case with a zipper, a Facial Cavity Seals insert, a neck strap, and a cleaning cloth for lenses.
frames made of triloid, HVP technology
Anatomically shaped frames are made of durable Triloid nylon. Their construction allows for a comfortable fit and does not limit the comfort of using headphones or hearing protectors. The frames and lenses feature HVP technology (High Velocity Protection), which protects the eyes from injuries caused by high-speed objects.
The frames are equipped with a special, removable Facial Cavity Seals insert made of soft foam, offering additional protection against wind, dust, and sweat. Rubber temple tips prevent the glasses from slipping, minimizing discomfort related to increased airflow, which can cause eye dryness. Especially recommended for people with dry eye syndrome.
polycarbonate lenses with T-Shell coating and Captivate technology
Tinted lenses made of durable Selenite polycarbonate with Captivate technology improve the evenness of light reaching the eye by balancing the visible light spectrum. They provide light transmission of 15%. They are coated with a scratch-resistant T-Shell coating, which protects against damage and increases durability, and an Anti-Fog coating that reduces fogging. The lenses protect the eyes from harmful UVA and UVB ultraviolet radiation.
Standards and Certifications
- EN.166F Standard meets the European requirements for protection against impacts from fast-moving particles (Medium Energy Impact). According to the standard, the frame and visor should withstand the impact of a 6 mm diameter steel ball weighing 0.86 g, moving at a speed of 162 km/h.
- ANSI Z87.1 Standard specifies the impact resistance of the visor and frame. During tests, resistance is checked against the impact of a high-mass steel object (High Mass) and a high-speed steel ball (High Velocity), confirming resistance to typical mechanical hazards.
- MIL-PRF-32432A - a U.S. military standard defining requirements for eyewear and goggles for military personnel. It includes protection requirements, such as ballistic resistance, side impact and fragment resistance, mechanical strength, as well as optical and operational requirements, including high lens clarity, no optical distortions, UV protection, compatibility with helmets, masks, night vision, and the ability to replace the visor.
- UV Protection - the visor provides full protection against UVA/UVB radiation (blocking at least 99.9%).

Anti-Fog coating prevents lens fogging, maintaining clear vision in humid conditions or during varying temperatures. Eyeglasses with this coating do not require frequent cleaning or defogging, making vision more comfortable.
Selenite visors are made of unbreakable polycarbonate, which provides high visual clarity and UV protection.
T-Shell is a coating on Wiley X glasses that resists scratches, protects lenses from damage and extends their life.
Frames made of Triloid nylon provide lightweight and highly comfortable glasses. Triloid features optimal hardness and is highly resistant to impacts and falls.
Facial Cavity is a cap that provides protection from the elements and excessive sidelight. With soft foam seals, the glasses block dust, pollen and wind, preventing eye irritation. They eliminate peripheral light, which improves optical clarity.
MIL-PRF-32432 is an American military standard for glasses and goggles, including corrective glasses. According to this standard, a set of glasses should include spare lenses, a case, an instruction manual, a cleaning cloth and a strap, depending on the type of set. Goggles must also have a protective case in the set. Glasses and goggles must be compatible with a corrective insert. The standard specifies the goggles' ability to withstand impact from a .15-inch (3.8 mm) steel bullet weighing 0.376 grams at 200 m/s. In the case of goggles, the impact resistance of a .22-caliber bullet fired at a velocity of approximately 170 m/s.
Z87.1 standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the durability of eye protectors. The standard includes two types of tests (3 tests) for the impact resistance of the lens and the stability of its seating in the frame: resistance to High Mass and High Velocity objects.
EN166F is the European standard for protection against the impact of accelerated objects (Medium Energy Impact). Class F mechanical strength means that, according to the standard, the frame and visors of the glasses will withstand the impact of a steel BBs with a diameter of 6 mm and a weight of 0.86 g, traveling at 45 m/s (162 km/h).
According to this standard, the frame and visor of the glasses can withstand the impact of a 6.35 mm diameter steel BBs traveling at 45 m/s (164.6 km/h).

Great, comfortable, and solid glasses that offer very good vision quality. Purchased both for knife training and outdoor activities, they perform excellently. They sit stably on the head, do not slip, and do not cause discomfort. I definitely recommend them.

I haven't had the chance to use them every day yet, but after some initial tests, I can see that the lenses are excellent—they render colors very well and provide clarity, even when looking at a monitor. The quality difference compared to an older model from this brand is noticeable. The frames have a nice matte color, and the temples are short. Not everyone will like this shape, but you can secure them with a strap. The glasses sit pretty well on the head, although I think with the extra anti-fog insert, it's better to use a strap, especially on a motorcycle or bicycle. Overall, I recommend them, but more for people with small or medium-sized heads—for a larger head, I'd choose a different model, but with these lenses.

My earlier Oakley glasses are still working well, even though they're already a few years old. I got a bit bored with them, and since they're already scratched and not very fashionable—I decided it was time for something new. I was looking for sunglasses that would be durable, versatile, and polarized, and also well protected on the sides so that glare wouldn't blind me when driving. When I first put on the Wiley X Gravity with Captivate Polarized Grey lenses, I was impressed. On a sunny day, the view was incredibly clear and sharp, and the colors vibrant—a lot better than in my several-year-old Oakleys. The difference in image quality comes from advances in technology. Unfortunately, the glasses turned out to be a bit too tight on my larger head, they slipped off my nose a bit, and with the additional gasket, they didn't fit my face as well. Ultimately, I returned them and I'm getting a bigger Wiley X model with the same lenses, because I liked them a lot and don't want to wait for a refund.
