Flecktarn is a traditional German military camouflage pattern that was officially adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1990. It features a design composed of small, irregular spots across five colors – typically dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige. The extensive distribution of dots and the blurred boundaries between these colors help to effectively break up the wearer's silhouette in forested environments, as well as in scrublands or against the backdrop of forest undergrowth. This camouflage was tailored for European climatic conditions, particularly suited to the temperate zone. Today, Flecktarn is still employed as a standard issue pattern by the German army, as well as by military and police forces. The sleeping bag was aesthetically and carefully packed by the manufacturer, but after unfolding it, I had difficulty rolling it up again as neatly. I did not like the system of rolling it into a cover that is permanently attached to the rest of the sleeping bag. Admittedly, I did not check how well it insulates, but it seems to me that due to the thin filling, it will not provide enough warmth. The inside is indeed pleasant to the touch, while the material on the outside is stiff and rustles. Ultimately, I returned the sleeping bag.

I have the Pilot-flecktarn sleeping bag, which I have tested many times and I am very satisfied with it, so I decided to buy a second one in olive color.

The sleeping bag is pleasant to the touch, easy to unfold and fold. You can buy a compression sack, although it depends on personal preferences. At temperatures above +10 degrees, when using thermal clothing, it is perfectly suitable for sleeping in a tent.
