The gloves are made of plastic and synthetic leather, ensuring a secure grip in various conditions. The upper part of the gloves is made of waterproof material with a Rip-Stop weave, preventing fraying and tearing of the material upon local damage and increasing abrasion resistance. The velcro cuff closure allows for individual fit. The palm section made of durable 0.8 mm synthetic leather ensures a stable grip and control, allowing for touchscreen operation without removing the gloves. The Lock Ring panel protects the sensitive area at the thumb, increasing the durability of the construction and reducing seams prone to damage. Ribbed panels on the index finger and thumb enhance the durability of these areas, improving grip precision.

TPR panels, impact-absorbing inserts, AirHammer padding

The external side of the gloves features durable TPR panels (Thermal Plastic Rubber compliant with EN 13594 standard) protecting hands from abrasions and impacts, making them an excellent choice for building work and CQB conditions. The segmented panels facilitate finger bending. The palm side of the gloves is equipped with D3O inserts absorbing impact energy and vibrations around the palm area. The AirHammer padding additionally protects the sides of the hands from injuries.

ANSI/ISEA 105-3XX and EN388-2121XP standards

The gloves meet the American protective standard ANSI/ISEA 105 at level 3XX in terms of cut, abrasion, and puncture resistance, which means:

  • 3: abrasion resistance (scale from 1 to 6)
  • X: cut resistance (scale from A1 to A9)
  • X: puncture resistance (scale from 0 to 5)

The gloves meet the protective standard EN388 at level 2121XP for mechanical hazard resistance, which means:

  • 2: abrasion resistance (scale 0–4)
  • 1: blade cut resistance (scale 0–5)
  • 2: tear resistance (scale 0–4)
  • 1: puncture resistance (scale 0–4)
  • X: cut resistance – TDM test (ISO 13997) (scale A–F)
  • P: impact protection (test passed)

In the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, abrasion resistance is rated on a scale from 1 to 6 and refers to the number of cycles a material can withstand before wearing out. Cut resistance is classified on a scale from A1 to A9 (from the lowest to the highest level of protection). Puncture resistance is rated on a scale from 0 to 5 and indicates the force required to pierce the glove surface with a sharp probe (not applicable to needle punctures).

The scales defined in the EN388 standard indicate the level of glove protection: a value of 0 means no protection, while the highest values (4, 5) indicate the maximum resistance level.

In the TDM test method (ISO 13997), letter designations are used, where A represents the lowest level of protection and F the highest.

The symbol X indicates that the parameter was not tested or is not applicable. The symbol P indicates that the glove meets the requirements for impact protection.

    Mechanix Wear M-Pact Partial Finger Coyote gloves are another pair from this brand that I chose – and they definitely won't be the last. I decided on this model for the summer. The gloves are well made, and the inside material is very functional both to the touch and in color – stains are hardly visible. The outer material isn't your typical mesh or perforated netting, which the manufacturer's description didn't mention. It consists of several layers, and the outermost one is semi-transparent. I definitely recommend them!

    Mechanix M-Pact gloves are characterized by high durability. The leather on the palm is of good quality, and the protective panels on the back effectively protect your hands. Personally, I prefer the fingerless version—they are much more comfortable to me because they are not as stiff. This is already the fourth set I have bought from Mechanix, and I can recommend the Mechanix Original model if someone cares about more comfortable (less armored) gloves.
