Maskpol Softshell SMD-01 Women's Sweatshirt - MAPA

Women's tactical softshell sweatshirt featuring inserts of uniform material in MAPA camouflage. Perfect for survival, hiking, airsoft, and recreational outdoor pursuits. With its multi-layer construction, the sweatshirt not only provides excellent protection against wind and rain, but also eliminates the need for extra warm clothing.

The softshell consists of a three-layer polyester laminate:
- outer layer made of weather-resistant impregnated fabric,
- middle layer composed of a PTFE Teflon membrane,
- inner layer with a fleece warming lining.

The collar, interior of the hood, pockets, and sleeves are reinforced with US-23 uniform material - a robust 50/50 blend of soft cotton and polyester. Due to the Rip-Stop weave, the material is durable and resistant to abrasion and tearing.

The entire garment is secured with a durable one-way zipper. The high zipper forms part of the hood with a welt, offering additional protection for the head against cold and wind. For enhanced thermal comfort, there are underarm vents.

The cuffs are finished with elastic piping, and the bottom waistband features an elastic drawstring with a stopper, allowing the width to be adjusted to the user's silhouette and preventing it from being blown upwards.

This model includes 2 classic side pockets with zipper closures. The pockets' interiors are finished with breathable mesh.

The sleeves have 2 large velcro panels for attaching various emblems, such as insignias, national flags, unit emblems, or Morale Patches. A velcro area for the namesake is placed on the right chest.

The MAPA camouflage pattern was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and a current researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He authored several publications, including Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, substantiated with solid theoretical and experimental justifications, including computer analysis of thousands of terrain photos, garnered attention from experts and military apparel manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage debuted at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a pattern for the Dromader system of gear and uniforms from Maskpol, a member of the Polish Armaments Group. Originally created for Territorial Defense Army soldiers, the MAPA camouflage was also considered a future pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, potentially replacing camouflage wz.93. Unfortunately, it hasn't been adopted officially as the Polish Army's camouflage pattern yet.

The main features of MAPA camouflage in its basic forest version:
- 6 colors forming map-like layers,
- colors optimized for Central European forest operations,
- utilization of three-dimensional illusion and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes resembling vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements mimicking light flashes and shadows,
- silhouette deformation with macro pattern,
- color noise achieved through a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern offers an intriguing alternative to the leading contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or Finnish M/05. In some aspects, it surpasses them and better matches the colors found in Central European forests from late spring to early autumn.
