Tactical plate carrier vest featuring MAPA camouflage and quick-release ROC 40 and ROC 80 buckles. Constructed from a durable 560 Cordura laminate. Designed to accommodate both soft and hard SAPI ballistic plates in sizes S, M, and L.
The comprehensive laser-cut MOLLE system allows for easy equipment customization based on the user's specific requirements and tastes. A velcro panel on the chest permits personalization by attaching various emblems.
Fitted with comfort pads and inner panels made from contoured spacer foam to enhance air circulation, it also features adjustable, replaceable cummerbunds. Additionally, central straps known as elevators ensure plates of different sizes are securely held within the vest.
The MAPA camouflage design was created by Maciej Dojlitko, an academic at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Dojlitko also authored works such as Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools of military camouflage design (Gdansk 2015). Supported by extensive theoretical and experimental evidence, including computer analyses of terrain photos, this innovative design gained attention from specialists and military apparel producers. In 2017, MAPA camouflage debuted at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce for the Dromader armor and uniform system by Maskpol, part of the Polish Armament Group. Designed for the Territorial Defense Army, MAPA was also considered a potential new pattern for the Polish Armed Forces to replace wz.93. However, it has not been officially adopted by the Polish Army to date.
The most important features of MAPA camouflage in basic forest variant:
- 6 colors forming layers resembling horizontals on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- the use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette by means of a macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.
The MAPA pattern stands as an intriguing alternative to leading modern camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or Finnish M/05. In some areas, it surpasses them and better emulates the hues found in Central European forests from late spring to early fall.
