Maskpol Combat Shirt CS-02 - MAPA

Tactical Combat Shirt in MAPA camouflage, perfect for tactical training, survival activities, ASG and recreational outdoor excursions. Made of lightweight and stretchy material, which ensures proper fit, maintains optimal body temperature and effectively wicks away moisture.

Rękawy wzmocnione splotem Rip-Stop, elastyczny materiał na korpusie

The sleeves were sewn from a durable material, which is a blend of polyester and cotton. Thanks to the Rip-Stop weave, the fabric does not fray or ripple even after local damage. The body of the sweatshirt is made of stretchy and breathable fabric (95% polyester, 5% lycra), which is soft to the touch and provides effective thermoregulation.

Regulowane mankiety, wysoki kołnierz, kieszenie na ochraniacze łokci

Velcro-fastened cuffs allow easy adjustment of the circumference to fit the wrist. The high collar fastened with a short zipper effectively protects the neck from the wind. There are flat pockets on the sleeves designed to accommodate elbow protectors.

Kieszenie na ramionach, panele Velcro

Both shoulders are equipped with pockets closed with button patches. Velcro panels have been placed on the pockets, which allow you to personalize the sweatshirt by attaching emblems such as the national flag, unit emblem or so-called Morale Patches.

camouflage MAPA

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of accouterment and uniforms by Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armaments Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace camouflage wz.93. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

The main features of MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:

  • 6 colors forming layers resembling levels on a map,
  • colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
  • use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
  • biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
  • strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
  • deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
  • color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.

Main features

  • flexible material
  • Rip-Stop weave
  • figure-flattering fit
  • 2 pockets on shoulders
  • possibility of fitting elbow pads
  • high collar
  • velcro panels on shoulders

The wombat shirt is very good in terms of quality, but it seems to me that Maskpol designs them mainly with very tall people in mind. I am 187 cm tall and chose size XXL, and with my arms outstretched, the cuffs only reach the middle of my forearm.

The material and workmanship are of a high standard. MASKPOL is a manufacturer that offers very good quality products. The jacket fits great and is comfortable to wear. Personally, I think the collar could be a bit tighter, but this is not a big minus. In my opinion, it's worth considering purchasing this jacket.
