A trekking axe dedicated to outdoor and bushcraft enthusiasts. It can be successfully used to prepare wood for a campfire or to build a simple shelter. This is one of the more versatile models in the Hultafors range. The blade is derived with a convex grind, i.e. the side surfaces of the wedge are slightly convex. This increases the strength of the cutting edge. The name Hultan comes from the stream that powered one of the water wheels in the manufacturer's forge.
The axe head is made of forged Swedish carbon steel processed using traditional methods from centuries ago. The metal is hammered up to 60 times during forging, increasing its density and strength.
The ergonomically shaped axe (handle) is made of hickory wood, which has been preserved with linseed oil.
A leather case is included to protect the blade.

Stylish, very sharp, and equipped with a solid leather sheath. You can feel the quality of the craftsmanship. It’s worth protecting it with linseed oil and finishing it with a wax containing this oil, and wrapping paracord under the head for a more professional look and better protection.

The handle color is much lighter in reality than in the photo. You can see the original look on the Helikon manufacturer's website. Because of this, the product, which was supposed to look exclusive, actually looks more like an ordinary one from the supermarket. Nevertheless, it's still a solid hatchet with a 50-year warranty. The length of my piece is 382mm, weight without the cover is 715g, with the cover is 791g.
