After a year and a half: the jacket is super small and light, for everyday carry in a backpack—then it works well for light rain; on weekends, it’s my favorite insulating layer for moderate wind and light rain during treks. Then I put it over merino wool and have an ideal setup in which heat is managed well during exertion. It also works great in summer when stuffed into a pants pocket, for example many times for the kids when it’s windy by the sea and calm in the forest. So I use it in different ways, including demanding ones, for example on a multi-day trek with a 25 kg backpack or when walking through the forest. So far it has proven durable; neither the backpack nor bushes have torn it. A big plus is the adjustable hood with a micro-brim and the high collar—it really protects in moderate wind and light rain. One last thing: it dries instantly. And still, another plus is the cut with an extended back, of course.

The jacket has a very simple cut and is equipped with only one pocket, into which it can be packed. The sleeves are long, and the cut itself is quite elongated, so taller people probably should not have trouble finding the right size. The hood is deep and fits well. For its compact size, it protects effectively against the wind, but it does not provide any protection from rain at all, which is quite understandable.

When buying this jacket, it's important to be aware that the priority here was minimal weight and compact size, without unnecessary compromises. The finish is solid, but when compressed very tightly into its pocket, the seams might raise some concerns as to whether they will hold up over time. The material is thin and requires gentle handling, though it doesn’t appear to be of low quality. The hood fits well to the head, and the zipper goes all the way up to the nose. The jacket is rather loose-fitting and quite long. The cuffs at the sleeves are quite narrow compared to their width, but they still sit almost perfectly at the wrists. It's easy to get hot in it during intense physical activity. There are numerous online comparisons of the Tramontane model with the Windrunner from Helikon. The jacket provides great protection against wind and can withstand light drizzle (up to a point). For better thermal comfort, I recommend wearing an additional, even thin, layer underneath.

My first impressions: the jacket is extremely lightweight, and although the material is thin, it doesn’t feel as fragile as I expected, which I consider an advantage. It’s easy to compress into a small pocket, but it comes neatly folded on a piece of cardboard and packed in foil. The Tiger Stripe camouflage looks really good in person and matches many styles. The jacket has a fairly long cut and the sleeves are an appropriate length.

The Tramontante jacket is very lightweight, easy to pack into a pocket, and fits excellently. Carefully crafted, it protects against light rain and provides warmth during chilly evenings. You can take it anywhere, you barely feel its weight. At my height of 183 cm and weight of 78 kg, size M fits perfectly, even when I wear an extra layer underneath. The Taiga Green color looks great in real life. Size L would be too roomy for me. I definitely recommend it.

I liked the Helikon-Tex Tramontane WindPack jacket - Coyote; I chose size L, but I probably should have taken M. Everything is great. I tested it once in a heavy downpour; it got a little wet, but that was under very heavy rain.

It is made from quality materials and is solidly sewn. When folded, it takes up very little space, so it can easily fit even in a backpack pocket. It fits close to the body, looks neat, and effectively protects against wind and rain.

Great lightweight jacket made for wind and light rain, well worth the purchase. Might grab another color. I’ve just purchased the matching pants. I went for a bigger size so I can layer underneath.

So, I already have experience using this windbreaker, and overall I like almost everything about it. It folds into its own pocket, takes up little space in a bag, I always carry it with me in summer, and in the evening it has saved me several times from a chilly breeze. Unfortunately, it lacks side pockets, which would have been useful. It wrinkles a lot when folded and takes a long time to smooth out once worn. The price is a bit steep, but otherwise everything is fine!

The jacket protects very well against the wind and also handles light rain, although a lot depends on washing it with the right detergent. The cuffs and zippers work flawlessly. The only thing I miss is a light lining, and the zipper fastens quite high, which is not always comfortable. Fortunately, the material is not stiff, so this can be worked around, but in stronger wind it can be irritating.

I already bought the Windrunner here in Alpha Green and was able to test this great piece in the woods. When it’s windy and you’re sitting still, it also feels unpleasantly cool there. I’ve now also ordered the Tramontane in Flecktarn. It packs down even smaller, but unfortunately it doesn’t offer as many pockets as the Windrunner. On the other hand, you can pull it on over normal clothing more quickly and then you’re camouflaged too! Size L is enough for me at 183 cm, fits well over a T-shirt and jacket or a fleece pullover. There’s nothing more that needs to be said here about the quality, and there’s no need to talk about shipping from military.eu either — it’s always fast anyway, as long as DHL does its part.

I bought it on sale, and it’s absolutely amazing and such a great find!! It weighs nothing, folds into a pocket, and it’s a very nice windbreaker))) I usually wear size M, but I got S so it wouldn’t look baggy on me, and it fit perfectly for my height of 171 cm and weight up to 80 kg. For cycling and walks by the sea, in windy or cloudy weather, it’s exactly what you need. The Woodland Panther color is awesome! If there are more discounts, I’ll buy another one! It’s a must-have for everyone))) Great item, but in the forest where there are lots of branches, or if you smoke, be careful with the product. I'm normally size L, so I bought this in size L and it's a perfect fit when worn over a t-shirt or a longsleeved shirt. It's really thin but it blocks the wind enough while you're on the move or helps to maintain warmth when you stop briefly. Packs REALLY small, easy to take it with you everywhere just in case.
