When buying this jacket, it's important to be aware that the priority here was minimal weight and compact size, without unnecessary compromises. The finish is solid, but when compressed very tightly into its pocket, the seams might raise some concerns as to whether they will hold up over time. The material is thin and requires gentle handling, though it doesn’t appear to be of low quality. The hood fits well to the head, and the zipper goes all the way up to the nose. The jacket is rather loose-fitting and quite long. The cuffs at the sleeves are quite narrow compared to their width, but they still sit almost perfectly at the wrists. It's easy to get hot in it during intense physical activity. There are numerous online comparisons of the Tramontane model with the Windrunner from Helikon. The jacket provides great protection against wind and can withstand light drizzle (up to a point). For better thermal comfort, I recommend wearing an additional, even thin, layer underneath.

Made of 100% WindPack nylon, a material with high abrasion and tear resistance. It is characterized by light weight, quick drying and effective wind protection, making it an excellent outer layer. In addition, the fabric has a Teflon DWR coating, which repels water and protects against light precipitation.
Pocket-case, light weight
The jacket weighs just 120 g, and can be compressed to a minimal size for easy transport. An integrated internal chest pocket acts as a pouch, allowing the jacket to be conveniently packed away.
YKK zipper, drawstring waist, elastic cuffs
The full length of the jacket opens with a YKK zipper. A drawstring adjustable bottom, elastic cuffs and an adjustable hood ensure effective heat retention. It is ideal as a layer over a warm fleece or sweatshirt, protecting against chilling on windy days.

My first impressions: the jacket is extremely lightweight, and although the material is thin, it doesn’t feel as fragile as I expected, which I consider an advantage. It’s easy to compress into a small pocket, but it comes neatly folded on a piece of cardboard and packed in foil. The Tiger Stripe camouflage looks really good in person and matches many styles. The jacket has a fairly long cut and the sleeves are an appropriate length.

The Tramontante jacket is very lightweight, easy to pack into a pocket, and fits excellently. Carefully crafted, it protects against light rain and provides warmth during chilly evenings. You can take it anywhere, you barely feel its weight. At my height of 183 cm and weight of 78 kg, size M fits perfectly, even when I wear an extra layer underneath. The Taiga Green color looks great in real life. Size L would be too roomy for me. I definitely recommend it.

I already bought the Windrunner here in Alpha Green and was able to test this great piece in the woods. When it’s windy and you’re sitting still, it also feels unpleasantly cool there. I’ve now also ordered the Tramontane in Flecktarn. It packs down even smaller, but unfortunately it doesn’t offer as many pockets as the Windrunner. On the other hand, you can pull it on over normal clothing more quickly and then you’re camouflaged too! Size L is enough for me at 183 cm, fits well over a T-shirt and jacket or a fleece pullover. There’s nothing more that needs to be said here about the quality, and there’s no need to talk about shipping from military.eu either — it’s always fast anyway, as long as DHL does its part.

It weighs nothing, folds into a pocket, and it’s a very nice windbreaker))) I usually wear size M, but I got S so it wouldn’t look baggy on me, and it fit perfectly for my height of 171 cm and weight up to 80 kg. For cycling and walks by the sea, in windy or cloudy weather, it’s exactly what you need. The Woodland Panther color is awesome! If there are more discounts, I’ll buy another one! It’s a must-have for everyone))) Great item, but in the forest where there are lots of branches, or if you smoke, be careful with the product. It's really thin but it blocks the wind enough while you're on the move or helps to maintain warmth when you stop briefly. Packs REALLY small, easy to take it with you everywhere just in case.

I am very happy with the quality and the fact it can be packed to a very small size. I now own multiple versions of this with PL Woodland being my latest camo which is a good camo for English woodlands. My only complaint is why there is a bright white logo on the jacket which seems like a massive oversight on what is otherwise an excellent jacket.
