PU layer, additional reinforcement
Constructed from natural leather with a PU and suede coating. Additional reinforcements enhance durability and provide structural support in critical areas, guaranteeing comfort and safety during wear. The high-sewn-in tongue effectively blocks water and debris from entering the shoe. Covering long distances becomes more comfortable due to the anatomically designed polyurethane midsole made with Techlite technology, which efficiently absorbs shocks and handles uneven terrain.
Omni-Grip sole, quick lacing system, 4 eyelets
The grooved sole made of high-quality Omni-Grip rubber is characterized by high abrasion resistance and provides excellent grip, enabling stable movement in various conditions, including snow and icy surfaces.

At first glance, the shoes look bulky, but in reality, they are very light and provide good ankle support. They are carefully crafted and their appearance fits well both in the city and in the forest. I am still curious to see how they will perform in terms of waterproofness and breathability, as I always approach manufacturers' claims about this with caution. These are already the next pair of Columbia shoes I have bought, and once again, size 45 fits perfectly. For those who have problems picking the right size, I recommend measuring your foot and checking the size chart before buying—I used to not do this myself ;)

I bought Columbia Newton Ridge Plus WP II – Elk/Black shoes, which are as described, well made, and suitable both for trekking and for everyday wear.

After several weeks of use, I can say that these shoes are really great and exceptionally durable, and the leather is soft and solid right from the first try-on. I personally tested their waterproofness during several downpours and daily walks across a meadow covered with wet grass. Unlike ordinary shoes, these never let any water get into my socks. Additionally, they're easy to tie and comfortable even for running.

I've had a pair of these shoes for about 4-5 years and I can definitely recommend them. I use them most of the year, mainly in the city, but they've also performed well in the forest and during trips to the High Tatras. The shoes are very durable, and apart from a slight scuff around the toe, after polishing they look almost like new. The sole is still holding up, apart from minor wear on the tread and some abrasions at the heel and toes. However, I noticed that one pair was made of slightly thinner leather, because it developed permanent creases from the very beginning, while the other pair is still practically without any signs of cracking.

They look great and seem very durable. They are carefully made and look even better in real life than in the pictures. They fit the foot well, and even though they are solid, they are not heavy and are comfortable to wear, just like sports shoes. You can easily choose the size using the size chart. Just waterproof them and they're ready to go for hiking.
