Columbia Bugaboo IV 3-in-1 Jacket - Black

Jacket in Black, designed as a 2-layer clothing system that can be adapted to the temperature, weather, and activity level. The set includes 2 separate elements: an outer waterproof jacket and a fleece sweatshirt that serves as an inner liner.

Both elements can be worn separately or combined into one insulated model. The outer layer protects against rain and wind, while the fleece provides additional thermal insulation on cooler days. The Zip-In system is responsible for efficient connection of both parts.

The outer layer is made of polyester. Protection against water is provided by Omni-Tech technology, based on a microporous, breathable membrane. The waterproof rating is 10,000 mm/m2.

The membrane limits water penetration from the outside while also supporting moisture wicking generated during activity. This solution makes it possible to use the jacket in rain and damp weather, reducing the risk of soaking the clothing worn underneath.

Sealed seams have been used in the connection zones of the individual panels, limiting the risk of water penetrating through the stitched areas. The additional protection helps maintain the jacket's protective properties during precipitation and in elevated humidity.

The outer material is coated with a hydrophobic DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Its role is to limit water absorption by the fabric. Raindrops remain on the surface of the material and run off it instead of quickly soaking into the fabric structure.

The fleece sweatshirt acts as an additional insulating layer. It can be worn on its own when light protection from the cold is needed, or attached to the outer layer using the Zip-In system.

When both parts are connected, the fleece increases the jacket's thermal insulation. The layered construction allows the set to be used in 3 configurations:

• outer layer only - in rain and wind
• fleece only - on cooler, dry days
• outer layer connected with the fleece - in lower temperatures and precipitation

The jacket lining uses Omni-Heat technology, which supports retaining heat generated by the body. The applied matrix consists of:

• 35% aluminum dots reflecting some of the heat back toward the body
• 65% breathable fabric supporting moisture wicking

The aluminum dots reduce heat loss, while the breathable sections of the lining help maintain air circulation. The technology works together with the fleece liner to create an additional heat-retaining layer.

The jacket is equipped with 6 pockets distributed across both layers of the set, making it easier to organize the most essential items. On the outer part of the jacket there are 2 pockets closed with zippers. The fleece sweatshirt is complemented by 2 open internal pockets and an additional 2 external pockets with zippers.

The jacket is fastened with a zipper protected by a storm flap closed with velcro. The flap covers the zipper and limits the inflow of cold air along the front of the jacket. The high stand-up collar effectively protects the neck from drafts. At the bottom of the jacket there is a drawstring for adjusting the circumference.

The cuffs are fastened with velcro allowing their width to be adjusted. The jacket is equipped with a detachable, adjustable hood that can be removed.
