Columbia Bugaboo IV 3-in-1 Jacket - Delta/Black

The jacket in Delta/Black was developed as a 2-layer clothing system that can be adjusted to temperature, weather conditions, and activity intensity. The set includes 2 independent elements: an outer waterproof jacket and a fleece sweatshirt that serves as an inner liner.

Both elements can be worn separately or combined into one insulated option. The outer layer protects against rain and wind, while the fleece provides additional thermal insulation on cooler days. Efficient connection of both parts is ensured by the Zip-In. system.

The outer layer is made of polyester. Protection against water is provided by Omni-Tech technology, based on a microporous, breathable membrane. The waterproof rating is 10 000 mm/m2.

The membrane limits water penetration from the outside while also supporting moisture wicking generated during exertion. Thanks to this, the jacket performs well in rain and damp weather, reducing the risk of soaking the clothing layers worn underneath.

At the points where the individual panels are joined, sealed seams have been used to reduce the risk of water getting in through the stitching. This additional barrier helps maintain the jacket's protective properties during rainfall and in high humidity.

The outer material is covered with a hydrophobic DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Its role is to reduce water absorption by the fabric. Raindrops stay on the material surface and run off it instead of quickly penetrating its structure.

The fleece sweatshirt acts as an additional insulating layer. It can be worn on its own when light protection from the cold is needed, or combined with the outer layer using the Zip-In. system.

When both parts are combined, the fleece increases the jacket's level of thermal insulation. The layered design allows the set to be used in 3 configurations:

• outer layer only - in rain and wind
• fleece only - on cooler dry days
• outer layer combined with the fleece - in lower temperatures and precipitation

The jacket lining uses Omni-Heat technology, which helps retain heat generated by the body. The applied matrix consists of:

• 35% aluminum dots reflecting part of the heat back toward the body
• 65% breathable fabric supporting moisture wicking

The aluminum dots reduce heat loss, while the breathable zones of the lining help maintain air circulation. The technology works together with the fleece liner to create an additional heat-retaining layer.

The jacket is equipped with 6 pockets distributed across both layers of the set, making it easier to organize essential items. On the outer layer of the jacket there are 2 pockets closed with zippers. The fleece sweatshirt is complemented by 2 open inner pockets and an additional 2 outer pockets with zippers.

The jacket fastens with a zipper covered by a flap closed with velcro. The flap covers the zipper and limits the flow of cold air along the front of the jacket. The high stand-up collar effectively protects the neck from drafts. At the bottom of the jacket there is a drawstring that allows the circumference to be adjusted.

The cuffs are closed with velcro that allows their width to be adjusted. The jacket is equipped with a detachable, adjustable hood with the option to remove it.
