Cold Steel Commercial Series Western Hunter Kitchen Knife

A kitchen tool perfect for cutting meat and skinning. The Drop-Point blade is made from Krupp 4116 stainless steel, and the handle is crafted from durable Zy-Ex material.

4116 Krupp steel, cryogenic hardening

The blade is made from high-quality German 4116 Krupp steel, subjected to cryogenic hardening, which allows achieving greater hardness (55–57 HRC) and impact resistance. This steel, produced by ThyssenKrupp, offers excellent cutting properties, is easy to maintain, and is highly resistant to rust.

Drop-Point blade profile

The blade with a Drop-Point profile has a length of 152 mm and a thickness of 3.5 mm. The blade is sturdy and easy to sharpen.

Kray-Ex feature
Kray-Ex
Kray-Ex is a synthetic polymer with a rubber-like structure used by Cold Steel to manufacture knife handles. It is characterized by high adhesion and anti-slip properties, ensuring a secure grip even in high humidity, low temperatures, and with dirty hands. The material is flexible and absorbs shocks well, which increases comfort of use. Kray-Ex is also resistant to cracking, abrasion, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions, making handles made of this material durable and virtually maintenance-free. Cold Steel uses it in tactical, survival, and utility knives.
4116 Krupp feature
4116 Krupp
4116 Krupp is the trade name for high-quality stainless steel from the German DIN 1.4116 group, produced by ThyssenKrupp. It is used in kitchen knives and medical instruments. The carbon content (0.45-0.55%) ensures good hardness and edge durability, while chromium (14-15%) guarantees high resistance to corrosion and oxidation. The steel also contains molybdenum (up to 0.6%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), and a small amount of nickel (up to 1%). It achieves a hardness of 55-57 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for knives with good cutting properties, easy maintenance, and corrosion resistance.

A comfortable knife for everyday use in the kitchen. It sharpens easily and stays sharp for a long time. It's worth trying – for me, it worked very well as a complement to my other knives.
