The temperature ratings for the Carinthia Tropen sleeping bag comply with EN 13537 standards:

• T-comfort: 9.4°C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can comfortably sleep through the night.
• T-limit: 5.1°C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without experiencing discomfort.
• T-extreme: -7.9°C – the lowest temperature for survival, but not recommended for frequent use.

The outer shell is crafted from lightweight, water-resistant Shelltrans fabric, which loosely encases the inner layer, creating an effective insulation barrier. Inside, the design utilizes polyamide, renowned for its low moisture uptake and enhanced resistance to mechanical damage.

The interior is packed with synthetic G-Loft insulation, ensuring a consistent temperature. This material maintains its insulating capabilities even after extensive use, washing, or contact with moisture. The inclusion of a Thermoflect layer increases insulation efficiency by reflecting body heat back into the sleeping bag.

Trapezoidal shaping in the foot area enhances thermal comfort and leg room, effectively aiding heat retention in the lower part of the bag.

The Tropen model functions effectively as an inner layer when paired with additional sleeping bags. This combination enhances the system’s thermal efficiency while allowing surplus moisture to dissipate. Users can experience thermal comfort even at temperatures reaching -20 C. The Sleeping Bag System - Defence 4 technology and the fabrics used ensure a lightweight and compact packing size.

The sleeping bag incorporates a two-way zipper on the left side, enabling it to be completely opened. The Anti Snag system ensures the fabric doesn’t catch during zipping. A Velcro flap at the top keeps the zipper from accidentally coming undone while you sleep.

The hood on the top of the sleeping bag enhances thermal comfort by enclosing the head and safeguarding it from the cold. Designed ergonomically, it offers added protection against moisture and wind. A built-in mosquito net situated in the front flap with snap buttons zips around the hood, effectively shielding the user from insects.

When packed, the sleeping bag takes up little space, making it easy to carry and store. Its packed dimensions are 19 x 24 cm, and the weight is 1100 g, allowing comfortable transport without unnecessary burden.

Included in the set is a compression sack equipped with snap buckles, securing the sleeping bag during transit and safeguarding it against dirt and physical damage.
