This fire starter offers quite a few extras compared with the classic Swedish model. The chain is adequately long, and the compass correctly shows the directions right out of the box. The fire starter is housed in a metal casing, and the rod itself is screwed into the handle, which is an interesting solution. The weakest element remains the striker, so it would be good to modify it or sharpen it properly.

The fire starter is housed in a durable metal container that feels good in the hand and screws shut. The chain is strong enough that you can easily wear the fire starter around your neck. The compass genuinely works properly — even after being turned repeatedly, it points north correctly every time. The visible air bubble makes it easier to position it so that the dial is perfectly level.

At this price, it definitely deserves 5 stars. It does its job, and the quality is similar to the fire starters sold by the popular sporting goods chain starting with D. It’s a standard product. The only drawback is the metal striker plate, which doesn’t really work well for striking sparks — unless I happened to get a poorer unit. It might as well not be included at all, and then the price could be even lower. My sons use the fire starter, practice with it, and get really good results. I recommend it.

The ferro rod bought for about 30 PLN is definitely worth its price. It has a practical storage tube, a sturdy rod, and produces plenty of sparks. I think it's hard to find anything better at this price.

The fire starter works as it should – it sparks, which for this price is quite okay. The compass seems more like a decoration than a tool for serious use; it doesn’t inspire my confidence. In my piece, I found some metal shavings in the "case" – probably magnesium or magnalium. Fun fact: if the fire starter wears out or breaks, you can unscrew and replace it with a new one (you can mount a slightly thicker rod). The casing itself looks like it’s made of aluminum or stainless steel.

The price to quality ratio is decent. The striker could be better. The firestarter works well if you have time to start a fire without rushing, but if you want to light a fire quickly, the striker is less effective. The best results come from using a knife, as then you get a lot of sparks. I'm giving a 5-star rating because the price matches the quality.

Solid fire starter, produces a lot of sparks and with properly prepared tinder, you can easily start a campfire, and you can also light a gas stove without any problem. Another plus is the screw-top container, which keeps the fire starter clean after storing it.

The fire starter does its job, but I was a bit disappointed. There are few sparks and it takes a lot of effort to ignite something. I had the opportunity to compare it during a class with a much larger Wildo fire starter, and the difference was huge. The Badger works as a backup stashed in your backpack, which hopefully you won't need to use, but if you light campfires often, I recommend spending extra for the Wildo – it produces a lot more sparks.

This is a very durable fire starter, which already produces a lot of sparks on the first try. The thick rod ensures long life, and extras like the built-in compass or the scale on the striker perfectly complement a survival kit. It's hard to find a better product at this price.

The fire starter is comfortable and functional. Thanks to the closure, it won't get wet. The compass works correctly, although I mainly use a traditional one, and I consider this as an interesting addition.

In the photos, it appears to be smaller than it actually is, but it remains comfortable to use. So far, it works flawlessly. I don't use the compass, but at first glance, everything functions as it should.

The fire starter works well; you just need to get used to using it. Combined with the case, it can even serve as a kubotan. It's worth avoiding contact with moisture because the metal can rust. I can recommend the fire starter itself.
