Badger Outdoor Multifire Flint

Fire steel compact flint boasts a straightforward design and impressive durability— lasting for several thousand uses. Ideal for camping, survival expeditions, and emergency scenarios, it simplifies igniting fires and starting gas or portable stoves. This provides a consistent heat source and facilitates cooking meals in outdoor settings.

Ferrocerium - a reliable source of fire

Fire steel comes with a robust ferrocerium rod (a unique metal alloy) measuring 60 mm in length and 8 mm in diameter, ensuring durability and user-friendliness. With one vigorous strike, the rod produces a generous shower of sparks, effectively igniting any prepared fire starter—the cerium in the rod reacts and ignites spontaneously.

The rod can generate sparks at temperatures reaching up to 3,000 degrees C, enabling efficient fire-starting even under challenging conditions like rain or frost.

ISKROWER WITH LINE, OPENER and compass

The kit comes with a metal spark igniter in the form of a tin with a serrated edge, which effectively generates sparks. In addition, the fire steel is equipped with a bottle opener, a ruler on the spark gap and a built-in compass, making it an even more functional tool.

Easy to use, Convenient to carry

Thanks to the ability to hide the rod in the case, the flint takes up little space, becomes more handy and protects the rod from damage, abrasion and dirt. Use is convenient both with gloves and bare hands.

The whole thing is suspended from a ball chain, which allows easy carrying around the neck or attaching it to equipment.

Main features

  • ferrocerium rod
  • sparking rod included
  • ball chain for carrying
  • compact size
  • low weight

Examples of applications and activities

Camping and hiking: Fire steel allows you to quickly light a campfire or hiking stove in any conditions, keeping you warm and able to prepare meals in the field.

Survival expeditions: Thanks to the high temperature of the sparks generated (3,000 degrees Celsius), the fire steel performs well in harsh conditions such as damp or frigid weather, allowing you to light a fire in any situation.

Tactical operations: Its compact design and reliability in lighting a fire make it a tool that should be in every tactical equipment. Light weight and resistance to harsh terrain guarantee convenience and efficiency in action.

The fire starter works well; you just need to get used to using it. Combined with the case, it can even serve as a kubotan. It's worth avoiding contact with moisture because the metal can rust. I can recommend the fire starter itself.

I’m not giving the highest rating because the chain was broken. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that or if its length is appropriate. Other than that, everything’s OK.

Good fire starter, easy to light a fire with it. Great value for money. In reality it is bigger than in the pictures. The compass is not amazing, it’s just there – but I definitely recommend the fire starter itself.

The fire starter creates nice sparks, and the compass points correctly. The only downside—the chain attached to the striker could be longer. The metal housing makes it rather heavy, but it is stable and sits well in hand.

This fire starter is very nice, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone considering it. The small compass is a neat addition. It’s not only functional but also looks good.

Maybe I don't quite know how to use it, because I had trouble making sparks, but from the comments it seems the scraper is poor, so that's the issue. You can always have a knife on hand, especially on a camping trip. The chain is practical, and being able to store the fire starter is the main reason why I bought it.

The fire starter is well made. The metal casing effectively prevents accidental use. I consider the compass more of a curiosity, though it might come in handy someday. The chain is rather weak, better to replace it with something stronger. Overall, it works well as survival or camping gear.

Well-made fire starter; thanks to the thick rod, it lasts longer. The bottle opener and ruler on the striker, as well as the practical compass, are interesting additions.

A fire starter is an accessory that everyone should have at least one of. It's always reliable, unlike lighters or matches, and costs little.

I've been using this fire starter for several years – it's perfect for lighting a fireplace, campfire, or even a grill during spring picnics. It produces a lot of sparks, I highly recommend it. It's definitely worth having with you.

The fire starter is easy to use and works well for lighting fires. The price to quality ratio is very good. In the photos, it looks smaller than it really is. The compass doesn't impress, but I definitely recommend the fire starter itself.

The fire starter is worth its price. A big advantage is the aluminum case, which protects the rod from damage. Generates a lot of sparks, but it's better to use a knife rather than the included striker. Surprisingly, the compass works properly.

Solid fire starter. It's worth grinding down the set's scraper on one side, then it sparks well. In the photos it seems much smaller than it is in reality. The compass, at least for me, works flawlessly.

Very good quality for the price. It’s easy to get sparks and light something. The rod sometimes unscrews, but that’s easy to fix with glue. The only downside is the metal striker, which works poorly compared to a knife. I’m taking off one star because when a product has extras, I expect a perfect base, and here, the striker looks neat but falls short.

It has its flaws, but for this price it's fine. The fire starter works well and gives a lot of sparks—it's better to use a knife instead of the striker. The little compass works fine. I recommend it.
