The Full Cushion Crew long hiking socks from Smartwool. They are made from a combination of natural merino wool, eco-friendly recycled nylon and a blend of elastane.
Merino wool is responsible for excellent thermoactive and antibacterial properties. Nylon reinforces the construction of the socks and allows for longer use, while an admixture of elastane provides a better fit and greater flexibility of the fabric.
Flat, undetectable seams minimize the risk of abrasions. The special construction of the socks provides adequate cushioning when wearing trekking shoes for hours. Another advantage is the non-pressing welt, which increases the comfort of the socks and keeps them in the right place.

The socks are aesthetic, warm, and of solid quality, but the downside is the difficulty in selecting the right size for a size 43 foot: M (38-41) is a bit tight and L (42-45) is slightly too big. Interestingly, size M (38-41) fit me better.

There’s not much to say about classic Smartwool merino socks – they’re warm, comfortable, functional and durable. Thanks to the high merino wool content, your feet don’t get cold, which makes them perfect for winter trips.
